Grand Canyon South Rim & El Tovar Hotel - 04/28/12 03:08 PM
We visited the Grand Canyon National Park South Rim recently and stayed at the El Tovar Hotel, located on the Canyon rim.  El Tovar is a registered National Historic Landmark.
Just outside the hotel, overlooking the canyon is a 1.3 mile Trail of Time which has markers showing the sections of rock from the various years of formation.  We found numerous spots along the trail to observe the magnificent canyon views.  The Yavapai Geology Museum offers information regarding the geologic history of the canyon.  We actually selected this spot for our spectacular sunset views.

Las Vegas, Nevada - 04/28/12 10:31 AM
We visited Las Vegas, Nevada recently and walked up and down the 4.2 mile strip to see as much as possible, taking photos which you can see below.
Las Vegas was established in 1905.  Elevation is a bit over 2000 ft and it's surrounded by mountains.  The climate is high desert with low humidity, often under 10%, and the winters are mild.

Legoland - Winter Haven - Florida - 04/12/12 09:15 AM
We went to Legoland, Winter Haven in Florida with our 3 and 7 year old grandsons and had a wonderful time.  The kids enjoyed the driving schools ( complete with a driver's license after passing the school exam), roller coasters, boats and numerous exhibits which included duplicates of skylines of New York City, Tampa, Las Vegas, Washington D.C. and a few other interesting areas.
The park is dotted with animals made, of course, from Legos and also a full sized car with unique detail, also made with Legos.  It's an interesting day and exciting for the kids.
 Enjoy the photos!

Lowry Park Zoo - Tampa, Florida - 04/12/12 09:03 AM
Lowry Park Zoo is located in Tampa, FL and has more than 1,500 animal residents. It’s been named the #1 Zoo in the U.S. by Parents Magazine.
This zoo is fabulous. It's very scenic and exciting to see so many animals within the nicely designed and easily explored park. The zoo is divided into eight sections featuring a variety of animals and species in each area. The animals are amazing and the atmosphere is wonderful. I highly recommend Lowry Park Zoo to anyone visiting the Tampa Bay area.
This is a very kid-friendly place but is also a pleasure for adults … (0 comments)
