Take a look at the spelling.  Were you thinking about a fish stringer?  If so you would be right but you know me by now that would be too easy.  I know how about a second-stringer as a person ranked according to their ability?  Well you would be right there also.  However the one meaning for (strin’er) is a horizontal timber connecting upright posts to a frame.  So was that one of your guesses?  What say you?

This one some of you will know some won’t.  Strangely this is associated with a home and this is the first time I can remember hearing this.  I’m sure it’s been around a lot longer than me and will continue when I’m long gone.  The meaning of (en tab’le cher) is a horizontal superstructure supported by columns and composed of architrave, frieze and cornice.  If you know what that means your one up on me.  Wouldn’t know it unless I was looking at a picture of it.
