cant fix stupid: AVOID FOOT-IN-MOUTH DISEASE ... CHECK THE FACTS BEFORE PASSING THEM ON! - 06/20/10 03:57 PM

It seems as though there are fewer and fewer places that one can get news that is accurate. Even what were the most reputable sources seem to have fired their fact-checking departments. The worst part of this is that, since the advent of social media, everyone is quick to spread information and before long the lies or misinformation is everywhere and it’s hard to find the truth.
Earlier this week, my wife was talking to a friend of her’s that is trying to get a short-sale approved on her home here in Palmdale. The agent she is working with (not us, … (4 comments)

cant fix stupid: BPO AGENTS - WATCH OUT FOR SHADY INVESTORS! - 02/08/10 02:04 PM
This one is geared for the newer BPO agent that hasn't yet experienced the bottom-feeding-investor-buyer.  I ran across this article on BiggerPockets written by an investor who trys to influence the BPO in his favor.  Please be aware of the different tactics used out there.  Go read the post and the comments ... It really is amazing to watch the thought process.
The bottom line is, don't let your opinion of value be influenced by anyone or anything that is not verifiable.  Use your own comps, research and knowledge of the area.  It may be tempting to use the comps the … (0 comments)

cant fix stupid: Has Anyone Else Noticed the Irony? - 03/14/09 01:05 AM

Bernie Madoff is pronounced "Made-Off" ... Am I just late to the game, or has no one else noticed this?

UPDATE:  I knew when I posted this originally that I wouldn't get any points due to the short nature of the post.  However, I got to thinking about it and I figured, what the hell ... Let me keep with the spirit of the original note and I'll add some words so I can make off with some points while I'm at it!  :)

cant fix stupid: How to Lose a Fortune in a Blink of an Eye! - 01/20/09 05:19 AM
Well, here we are in the 3rd week of the new year and the first tech challenge has reared its ugly head. Funny thing is, I was just reading not to long ago about a similar situation and had one of those "That'll never happen to me" thoughts run through my head! Bottom line: Always, always, ALWAYS make sure you own and manage your own domain names!!

UPDATE:  The hosting company stepped up and called me the following afternoon and we were able to get my domain back up and running.  The … (10 comments)

cant fix stupid: Bail Out? How ya like THEM apples? - 10/06/08 12:27 PM
For those of you that were screaming from the hilltop that the Bail-Out Bill was going to save the world ... How's that working out for you?  As of this writing the Dow is down over 500 points.  This is the Monday after the Friday the bill was passed.  I thought we were told that the market was waiting for the signing of the bail-out and it was going to skyrocket up again.  Hmmm ... The US Taxpayer was sold a bill of goods.  Now we're going to buy worthless paper.
If the "investments" were worth anything, don't you think that … (4 comments)

cant fix stupid: I Thought this is a Buyer's Market ... ?? - 05/08/08 11:49 PM
Being an REO agent here in the Palmdale / Lancaster area I hear and see a lot of things many typical resale agents don't.  Every day.  Some days, just when you think you've heard everything, you realize that you can't fix stupid.
I have been noticing that many banks are finally getting it ... don't overprice your assets.  List low, receive multiple offers.  At least here in the Antelope Valley.  We are about the lowest-priced market in Los Angeles County.  Even at the height of the market a buyer wouldn't find a better value for their dollar. Now you can pick … (7 comments)
