Self-Employed in Name Only For years now, real estate schools and brokers have been blowing smoke up the real estate agent’s rear. They tell you from the day you sign up for pre-licensing classes that one of the greatest things about being an agent is that you are your own boss. You’re self-employed! You’re free to do what you want, when you want, and how you want! Today I’m calling BS on that line.
