shortsales: HR-3164: Short Sale Transparency Act of 2011 - 10/21/11 02:44 PM

On October 12, 2011, Rep Susan Davis (D-CA) introduced a bill named the "Short-Sale Transparency Act of 2011" (HR-3164). This bill, if passed into law, would require Fannie and Freddie to "promptly" disclose the lowest price they would agree to on a short-sale once a short-sale application has been denied. You can read the complete text, as well as track the status, of the (surprisingly short) bill here.
I, for one, think this is a step in the right direction. Better yet, why not require them to declare their minimum price up front so the transaction can close the first … (2 comments)
