Checking on a build in League City. The building code is much different than in Sugar Land or even Pearland. The entire home is wrapped in OSB (oriented strand board) and the exterior studs are 12" on center along with hurricane straps. It makes for a super strong structure. This is about 4250 sqft.

WPI-8 is a certification that determines the insurability of a structure from wind damage. Anytime an insurance claim has been filed, and the claim relates to the structure, it might be required to obtain a new windstorm certificate. Otherwise, when you try to get a new windstorm policy, you will be denied coverage without a WPI-8. With the recent hurricane Ike, many homeowners replaced their roof and/or made structural repairs.
