I'm Back!

WOW! This year has flown by so quickly. It's October and I'm back to blogging. I haven't posted since March. What's happened since March that would hinder my blogging? The busy real estate in Middle Tennessee!

What slow market? The real estate market in Murfreesboro has been great. We have made our goals of 80 listings, 80 contracts written, and 80 closing for most of the year. The phone lines are busy with anxious customers. Of course this is thanks to the phenomenal training Keller Williams as to offer. I can't wait to see what the end of October brings!

Rice Absorbs Water from Electronics!

This weekend I was working on brochures for a real estate agent. All of my data was saved on my thumb drive. Somehow I forgot that I had placed the thumb drive in my jeans pocket instead of my purse. You guessed it, my

jeans were washed...with the thumb drive still tucked away in my jeans pocket! I didn't realize it until later in the day when I was searching for my thumb drive.

I remembered the advice Beth Torrence shared to a KW family member regarding rice absorbing water from electronics. Once I switched the load of laundry and found my thumb drive, I promptly headed to my kitchen. I placed my thumb drive in a zip lock bag with a cup of rice and sealed the bag. I let the rice absorb the water from my thumb drive overnight. I am blessed to say that all of my data is still located on my thumb drive! Thanks Beth!

I had the pleasure to join Keller Williams Murfreesboro 4 weeks ago. I have to admit I was very nervous joining a new market center, new real estate agents, and a new city. I had only visited Murfreesboro, TN a few times since I moved to Middle Tennessee 11 years ago.

The location Murfreesboro is perfect. KW Murfreesboro is located 2 red lights down from I-24 on St. Andrews Drive. The Murfreesboro area is growing with the KW Murfreesboro office closed over 10m in closed volume in February.

Franklin tn Real Estate - On response to a post that asked the question. What does Keller Williams offer that works for you?

Wolfnet - All Keller Williams agents have access to a software product call Wolfnet, and what it does is make it easier for the agents or customers to make custom searches, and in my case actually see the selections on a map. I've been able to use this feature to build custom searches by neighborhood and community, as well as price range, or special requirements like golf course or equestrian communities.I have built this into my website, as well as my blog posts.

Voicepad - A product that allow registered buyers to inquire about information on homes using a standard cell phone. Calling a local number, you enter the address of the property, and an automated woice will give you the information from the MLS data, as well as send a reference copy to your e-mail address, and notify the buyers agent (that would be me).

Individual websites with IDX search - Keller Williams provides customizable websites with idx searches to all Keller Williams agents. Even though you have to spend a little time to personalize it, they are very useful, and allows the realtors to advertise the properties online at all of the online real estate sites. Google, Yahoo, Trulia, Zillow, realtor.com, and of course the MLS system.

Online training at KW international - Keller Williams has many online courses that are designed to improve the productivity for every level. From the very new agents, to team leaders. As well as training to implement the tools I've mentioned.

What does it mean to my clients - Leading edge marketing tool with websites and blogs for every property, allowing me ot put their property on the first page of google for the community. Or for Franklin real estate buyers ,the best search tools in the business for current information on real estate that meets their criteria.

Change Your Default Search Engine in Internet Explorer

Everyone has a default search engine (Google, Yahoo, Live Search, etc) for their browser (Internet Explorer). This allows a person to type their criteria of what they are searching for in their browser address bar. Their default search engine will then provide them the results.

Whether you want to try a new search engine or change it back to your previous search engine, you can easily change your default search engine.

How do you change your default search engine?

Below are the simple steps to change your default search engine in Internet Explorer:

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Under Tools located on the menu bar > select Internet Options
3. Under Search (Change Search Defaults) > Select Settings
4. Select your desired search engine
5. Select Set Default
6. Select OK to exit the Search Settings
7. Select OK to exit the Internet Options settings.

We held our annual holiday party at Keller Williams Realty in Franklin Tennessee on December 11, 2008. The cold weather didn't stop us from having a great time. We had a fabulous time listening to holiday music and enjoying great conversations.

Transfer Your Bookmarks

Bookmarks are a great web browser tool. This allows you to simply click on the link you have saved in your bookmarks vs typing the link in the address bar every time for your most visited sites.

Are you aware that you can transfer your bookmarks to a new computer? Whether you simply want to backup your existing bookmarks or received a new computer, this is a very simple process.

Before you begin the transfer, you might want to clean up your bookmarks. You may have dead links that you don't need anymore.

The next step is to export your bookmark list. I suggest saving your bookmarks on your desktop to find it easier later on in the process. I have included IE (Internet Explorer), Apple's Safari, and Firefox.

--If IE does not display the menu (File, Edit, View, etc.), right-click in the gray area. Select Menu. Click File>>Import and Export. When the wizard opens, click Next. Select Export Favorites and click Next. Select Favorites and click Next. Click Browse and select the Desktop. Click Save. Click Next>>Finish.

--In Firefox, click Bookmarks>>Organize Bookmarks. Click File>>Export. In the "Export bookmark file" dialogue box, select Desktop. Click Save.

--In Apple's Safari, click File>>Export Bookmarks. A Save As dialogue box will open. In the Save in: box, select Desktop. Click Save.

You may want to save the bookmark list to a CD or a thumb drive. You may also send the file to your e-mail account if you wish.

Now simply save your bookmark file to your to your desktop on the new computer. You are now ready to import your bookmarks into your new browser.

Blogging Workshop under Way

The Blogging Workshop is such a success at Keller Williams Franklin TN that we have worked the workshop into our busy education schedule. We are pleased to announce the Blogging Workshop will now be held every Thursday at the Keller Williams Franklin TN market center, 11am - 1pm as of November 13, 2008.

Larry Brewer does a fantastic job of getting the message out of how important a blog is to the Realtor's business. He has helped Realtors break through the ceiling of writer's block, the most common deal breaker of blogging. Larry Brewer has also taught the class the importance of seo, search engine optimization, and many other tricks and tips to make a great blog.

All Realtors in the area are invited to join any session of the blogging workshop.
