Another Eco Certified® Real Estate Consultant and I happened on a "find" as we were out previewing properties for a client  here in Asheville, NC  not long ago. Horse farms and organic acreages are wonderful to visit on a mild winter's day. And, this time of year, most of the leaves have nested in the mountain crevices leaving landscapes free for viewing what otherwise might be missed.
One of those missed items was our "find"  ... a for sale by owner sign that was almost totally obscured by fallen leaves. The sign read...

Making sense of where you stand (see photo) in a challenging real estate market with surprises along the road is important. A clear voice signaling the way is much appreciated. An authentic voice can further alleviate concerns for the consumer-facing public and even could be helpful for those real estate people new to blogging.

We can guess, and based on intuition we can plan, but we never can know what will happen today, tomorrow, next week, next year--in all the years to come. Never can we know. 
But always, we can choose. We always can choose to hear and respond to the stirrings of a real estate market as it closes doors and opens new ones. Always we can choose to include in our planning the "bigger picture" ... for example the implications of  social networking , and we can choose to respond to the consumer-facing WWW even if that be with great sighs.

 Three Bears. 3 Questions. 3 Points. And a Challenge.
Questions:
1.      Does the  same-old-same-old-plan ( possibly adequate in the 1990s)  stand up in the 2.0 real estate environment of 2009 and beyond?
2.      Where are the maps of inquiry that highlight paths to places we need to go?
3.      And can we do better if we don't acknowledge that things are very different than they have been in recent years?

One of the Most Amazing Green-Built homes Asheville and We Have EVER Seen - 11/11/08 08:11 PM
It's NOT my listing. It's NOT anyone's listing. It is however one of the most amazing green-built homes Asheville and we have ever seen.  (see photo)
And I had the opportunity earlier this week to spend an hour with the genius who not only designed, but built it.
