There were the gentle slopes, the trails to easy then steep climbs, the Old Growth Grandfather Tree, the south-facing meadow, the cascading falls, the moss so old you were awestruck, and beside it, an Appalachian chimney ruin and ancient stone wall; places where continuity reigns and tranquility abides. The other day a group of us took one of Eco Stewards' Learning Tours here in Asheville. We headed out to take a peek at some interesting new Green-Built homes not far from downtown. As we were about to step over the threshold, the builder stopped us. "Take off your shoes," she requested..." "The recycled wood floors have a non-toxic finish, but we aren't sure if it is completely set yet." Of course, we all happily obliged.
