asheville horse properties: BEAUTIFUL Asheville Land Say Baby Boomers - 01/17/12 02:48 PM
"MY! This land is Beautiful!!!, " said my "Baby Boomer" clients as we looked at the land. (see photo)

I am excited about theprospects for Asheville real estate clients, a retired airline pilot and his wife  who refer to themselves as quintessential Baby Boomers, and their relocation to beautiful Western North Carolina— getting settled in a new home here in Asheville.

But they have some special requests for this beautiful Asheville land

They are serious about downsizing from their current 5,000 square foot equestrian estate to a home of less than 3,000 square feet— they really want a  sunny gardening area, … (0 comments)

asheville horse properties: Renewable Energy for Asheville Area Farms - 01/06/12 10:51 AM

Your heart can skip a happy beat just seeing the farms and farmland for sale around Asheville. (You may have surmised when reading my series on Asheville’s sustainable farms.) Now, Mountain Valleys Resource Conservation and Development, (MVRCD)  a non-profit that has managed resource conservation and economic development projects in western North Carolina since 1976, has “heart-warming" news. MVRCD has announced that it is accepting applications for its Green Energy Program. Western North Carolina farmers interested in generating renewable energy on their farms can apply.

This could be of special value given what Green Energy Grants could represent for the community … (1 comments)

Home And Land- Asheville Yesterday and Today-  (1)
Home on the LandAsheville Real Estate Journal Interested in preserving  farmlands and mountain landscapes? Perhaps your interest, like ours is inherited.  Our ancestors arrived in the Carolinas in the 1770s, when English, German, Scottish, Irish, French, Welsh, and Africans began the work-intensive struggle to settle upon the Land. They came first to the coastal areas of the Carolinas. Later, they migrated inland and then to the mountains of Western North Carolina.
Today we, following in their footsteps, and with the help of their good-stewardship of the Land , now still have the opportunity to make our Home … (3 comments)

asheville horse properties: 16 Acres! Perfect Asheville Horse Lovers Farm - 12/09/11 02:56 PM
Looking for character in a small horse farm near Asheville (like this 16 acre beauty?) I have said so many times, (see links below) that there is nothing like how the mountains and valleys of our region sculpt the landscape.

Here is a slideshow that proves that point: This is a 16 acre parcel with a lively stream, a sweet pasture, and views that go on and on.

asheville horse properties: Asheville Area Equestrain Properties and Communities - 03/18/11 11:46 AM
"I am exploring relocating to an Asheville area  eco friendly community which welcomes and accommodates horse," a horse property buyer wrote".  I am specifically interested in a situation in which there is minimum environmental toxicity."
By " eco-friendly" was she referring to  plants and trees potentially toxic  to horses., I wondered...or to an overall environment that includes healthy built homes...in a sustainable environment...
One of the challenges of communicating via email is to open up a good conversation that includes clarity when it comes to client desires.  I wanted to make sure this potential client, who would be  relocating to the Asheville … (0 comments)

asheville horse properties: Baby Boomers Seek Top-Rated Asheville Real Estate - 11/18/10 08:09 PM
Asheville real estate clients, a retired airline pilot and his wife  who refer to themselves as quintessential Baby Boomers, are excited about relocating to beautiful Western North Carolina- getting settled in a new home here in Asheville.
I, Greenolina  am excited about the prospects for them here in the Asheville area. But they have some special requests: They are serious about downsizing from their current 5,000 square foot equestrian estate to a home of less than 3,000 square feet- they really want a  sunny gardening area, a green-friendly, energy efficient home- and they want to stay living in this home … (7 comments)

asheville horse properties: Land For Sale by Owner Asheville - 05/22/10 05:53 PM
"Land For Sale Asheville Just 20 Minutes" read the FSBO (owner's) sign on the side of the road. I skidded to a stop. Pulled over to the side. Backed up... carefully. Scouting the Asheville mountain area for land for sale  is always an adventure, especially if it is mountain land for sale by owner, although it is not always fruitful.  This time, I felt a "nudge." Over the years, I have learned to pay attention to such things. If you have ever walked land that simply "speaks" to you, you will know what I mean.  Our second home buyer clients who will relocate to … (3 comments)

asheville horse properties: HORSES LOVE GREEN ASHEVILLE - 05/02/09 07:52 PM
We were out exploring Asheville horse farm lands with clients last week. This is the fifth tour for us. But each time we get a little closer to finding the "perfect" property. It's not easy when you love horses as much as our clients, do. I keep telling them HORSES LOVE GREEN ASHEVILLE, but they are used to the "flatlands" of FLorida . Possibly they worry that horses will be terrified of the terrain.
I took a picture of that "terrain" last week. It doesn't look all THAT scarey to me... and I have corroboration from horse-pals who live here. They nicker and snort … (0 comments)

Asheville "GREEN" Real Estate and Relocation: MARKET OUTLOOK-It's GREEN  and EQUESTRIAN Friendly (Part 5).
As I mentioned in Part 4 of this series, to some extent, we have felt the effects of credit tightening and the sub-prime mortgage crisis. But consider this:  Demand for green built homeshas only increased. And, in Asheville, it seems to help drive our market in a healthy trajectory.  For those relocating to Asheville:
MSN "Best Housing Markets"recently reported  that    Asheville is in the Top 10 List  The Asheville area and the Foothills of South Carolina have another magnetic feature for those relocating to this beautiful environment. That … (3 comments)
