De-Mystifying the "Green-THING" Green Homes & Land, Various Verdant Variables & Gorgeous Green "Complexions"--A Mystery? Here's a solution. Take a look at the photo to your left. It could be a quick reference point. I took it overlooking the valley that rolls out beneath my home here in Asheville, North Carolina. At first glance, you notice what appears to be a colorful array of flowers and berries, right? But take a second look. Those aren't berries; they are buds. And do you see a "tiny" home (on your left) in the distance? Wing across the valley with me now. Land on the rooftop of (24 comments)

land for sale: Carolina Blue Skies, Warps and Splinters - 09/30/07 11:34 PM
Perfect Carolina Blue sky today here in Asheville-mountain air clear and crisp as the warp and splinter of the world will allow. And this got me thinking about preserving and improving the quality of outdoor or ambient air. As a land specialist, I think about things like that-about the troposphere and stratosphere, and how each affects the quality of life on Earth differently. I remember emphasizing this to my students when I was a schoolteacher (seems like a thousand years ago)....Maybe you remember learning that the troposphere begins at the Earth's surface and extends for 6-10 miles. It absolutely and directly affects the health (16 comments)
land for sale: Homes, Castles, Cottages and Green Hills. - 09/25/07 09:31 PM
Homes, Castles, Cottages and Green Hills I'm not sure exactly why, but I've always been interested in the homes, castles, cottages and green hills of Ireland. I've learned a lot about the picturesque, the plain and the absolutely astounding while traveling through Ireland this month. So to answer those of you who have wondered about my travels in Ireland, here are few random thoughts and some words on real property there. Even though family lore (the O'Donnell Family of Donegal) and stories of rich farmlands, lace curtains and thatched roof cottages intrigued me as a child, having grown up in the Motor (48 comments)

It was early morning. Still early enough for the anxious homeowners to deal with an unexpected blanket of snow on this April morning the Appraiser had scheduled his visit. " Alert to the importance of this event, and that the Appraiser would be confirming the highest and best (26 comments)

Unsuspecting real state clients out looking for "green" pastures like the one pictured here, about a half hour north of Asheville, North Carolina were astonished today when they noticed an image of Elvis in photographs taken by their REALTOR®. land for sale: Transfer of Land in North Carolina. It's History by "Metes and Bounds" - 12/30/06 09:58 AM
Land transfers in the State of North Carolina may bring with them metes and bounds and mystery. Be prepared for bits of history written between the lines in old land surveys, and also be ready for a challenge when you decipher them. Interested in definitions?...Metes... "A boundary defined by the measurement of each straight run, specified by a distance between the terminal points, and an orientation or direction. Bounds... "A more general boundary description, such as along a certain watercourse, a stone wall, an adjoining public road way, or an existing building."
