APPLE COFFEE CAKE
1 cup flour1 teaspoon baking powder1/2 teaspoon salt1 cup sugar1 teaspoon ground cinnamon5 1/2 Tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature1 egg, beaten1/2 cup whole milk1 medium Cortland or other baking apple, peeled and sliced
1 Set the oven to 375°F. Grease a 9-inch square baking dish with or pie pan a 4-cup capacity.
2 Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt.
3 In a bowl, combine 1/2 a cup of the sugar with the cinnamon, set aside.
