Renting a Condo on the Wilshire Corridor - 08/29/11 12:58 PM

I get a lot of calls from people looking to rent on the Wilshire Corridor.  Many are not aware of the price range of available units and are surprised at the rents that being asked.
If you are going to rent on the Wilshire Corridor you will be doing so from an owner.  These are condos not apartments, and you are not going to be able to get information by calling the front desk at these buildings.  Each unit is individually owned and chances are that the owner is going through a Los Angeles real estate agent to help them get the condo rented.
Also, it … (20 comments)

Beware of Cute Dogs, Especially with a Client in Your Car - 08/27/11 11:04 PM
I have to say I am a good driver, and any client getting into my car can feel safe when we are on the road. However, I cannot say the same for when we are standing still.I took a new client today to an condo building.  As we sat outside waiting for the valet to take the car, a resident came out with her Boston Terrier.  Cutest thing you ever saw, name of Henry. If you know me you will know that I have never met a dog I didn't like, and I have to stop to talk to each and everyone of … (45 comments)

Rent a Luxury Home in Los Angeles - 08/26/11 12:45 PM

I am getting a lot of calls lately from people looking for luxury homes for rent in Los Angeles.  Often these are calls from assistants doing a preliminary search for their bosses, so having a Los Angeles real estate agent help with the search is going to make life so much easier.
Los Angeles homes for rent are going extremely quickly, not quite so much on the luxury end but  if the property is something special, then it too will go.  For that reason having someone watching the listings come on the market real time can improve your chances of getting the home you … (20 comments)

The Los Angeles Rental Market is Still Sizzling - 08/22/11 01:59 PM
A call will come in on a particular Los Angeles rental property, and by the time I make the call to the listing agent, it has already been leased.  You just can't get there fast enough.
I have discussed this with several of my fellow Los Angeles real estate agents and they are all seeing the same pattern.  We are doing more business with Los Angeles rental properties than buying and selling right now.  And they don't stay on the shelf.
This is more prevalent in the up to $3,000 price range, and decreases somewhat as you go up.  So, if you … (30 comments)

A New Classic - Date Night - 08/21/11 02:25 PM
So there is a brand new classic among movies - Date Night. I had taped it and started to watch it last night.  I couldn't stand more than 20 minutes of it.  But I wish I could have snagged a piece out of the first few minutes that is for the ages.Tina Fey is a Realtor:Scene:Tina coming out of a lovely house with a buyer couple.Tina:  This house was originally $1.3 Million, and now (with excitement in her eyes) it's $325,000.Couple:  I think we'll wait.  We think it is going to come down more....... A true classic.

Guess Which City is Top in Catering to its Carless Citizens. Go on Guess! - 08/20/11 03:30 PM
Enough of the jokes.L.A. is number one on the list of cities that take care of their carless citizens.  Yes, you heard me, L.A.  Los Angeles! This per a study conducted by the Brookings Institute which compared 100 of the largest cities with the most residents without cars and access to public transit.  Then it ranked them as to the ones that effectively reached those residents and delivered them to their destination.Surprisingly, Los Angeles offers the ability for people to get on a bus and get to work quite easily. The report doesn't say that it will get you to work quickly.  In fact, … (42 comments)

I am Having a Websitectomy - 08/19/11 12:33 AM
You look at strong people things and think they can just keep going on and on without care and attention.  And then, wham, they get sick.I have a pretty nice WordPress blog that recently started plummeting in the SERPS.I have been doing everything right.  Regularly posted to it.  Used keywords reasonably intelligently. Syndicated the content properly.....But it started dropping in visits. So I called Michael at Get Found Now and he immediately found the problem.  Get Found Now had built my site in the beginning, but not from scratch.  Michael had to work with about 9 generations of other website builders, one worse … (45 comments)

If You are Short Selling Your Los Angeles Home Will You Have to Pay Taxes on the Debt Forgiveness? - 08/15/11 08:10 PM
What is a short sale? If you are having a hard time paying your mortgage and owe more than the property is worth, then you may consider short selling your Los Angeles home.  What this means is that you would list the house at market price and work with prospective buyers until your come to an agreement.  Your listing agent would then approach the lender and work with them on an acceptance of the buyer’s offer.
This is a long and involved process during which you would have to prove hardship, and there is no guarantee the lender will agree to the … (25 comments)
