With Carmageddon over for this year, the next inconvenience to hit Los Angeles motorists is The Rampture. Sometime soon two Wilshire Westwood on and off ramps to the 405 will be closed for 90 days. These will be followed by the closure of the other two Wilshire ramps which will last from 14 to 90 days. Originally scheduled for this month the closures have been pushed back right now to November. The first ramps affected will be the westbound on ramp to the 405 north and the northbound 405 off ramp to westbound Wilshire. The Westwood area is already congested and this is not going to

A 10 mile stretch of the Los Angeles I-405, the San Diego Freeway is schedule to be closed for a 53 hour period on the weekend of July 16-17 as part of the improvement project. I-405 Closures will be as follows: Northbound I-405 – 10 miles between I-10 and U.S. 101 Southbound I-405 – 4 miles between U.S. 101 and Getty Center Drive. Motorists traveling during this time are advised to use alternative routes: 5,15,23,55,57,101,118,126,210,605 and 710 freeways. Ramps in the area will begin shutting down on Friday, July 15th from 7:00 p.m., and the freeways will be closed

Primarily and East Coast tradition, hayrides are the bellweather for SCARE!!! Be ready to be scared to death at this year's Los Angeles Haunted Hayride. The venue is Griffith Park, site of a zoo 100 years ago. The story goes that shortly after the zoo opened in the early 1900s, the animals began to behave strangely. First Fridays at Abbot Kinney is a great way to get a taste of the art, shopping and music scene in the trendy Venice, California neighborhood. Downtown Los Angeles at night is a hidden treasure that most Angelenos have yet to discover. Tonight I visited the Checkers Hotel with its rooftop swimming pool. The Checkers, now Hilton Checkers, is a historic hotel dating back to 1926. It is the only 4-diamond boutique hotel in Downtown L.A. The view from the rooftop is stunning at night and I am sorry I am not a better photographer to have captured it. decided I am not going to write a post today, because I have absolutely nothing to say. I could have written about the fact that this is the 40th anniversary of two Rolling Stones concerts that took place at the Forum in Inglewood, but I don't think anyone would have been interested. I could have mentioned that the Good Food Pie Contest will take place on Saturday at Westfield Topanga in Canoga Park where around 140 pies will be available for tasting.
