I don't generally post my leases and sales, so I thought I would just take a moment to take stock of what turned out to quite a healthy 2011 in the Los Angeles real estate market.
This Los Angeles Realtor® started off the year very slowly.  Then the stone started rolling down the hill and gained momentum.
Anyway, here is an overview of my Los Angeles real estate sales and rentals this year:
Purchases:
880 W. 1st St. #804, Los Angeles 90012 (Downtown) (foreclosure) – June 2011 – $270,000
10580 Wilshire Blvd. #8SW, Los Angeles 90024 (The Wilshire)( pocket listing) – October 2011 – $1,600,000

It is in most people's nature to look for a deal.  Having lived in the Middle East I am certainly used to offering ridiculous prices straight off the bat, walking away, and waiting for the vendor to come running after me.  If you pay full price there, after walking away, the shop keeper will spend the next half hour rubbing his hands together in glee. It is not unheard of here now to try and get the price of something lowered, even in major stores, but there is no personal connection by the salesperson with the item being sold in stores. … (138 comments)

los angeles home sales: Los Angeles County Homes Sales Statistics Through January 2010 - 02/26/10 01:13 AM
 
The Los Angeles County Housing Market is not showing a definite trend.  We look forward to February's figures for a clearer picture.  
The sale of Single Family Homes in January 2010 remains pretty much the same is the previous January, but dropped approximately 36% from December 2009.
The median price in January 2010 increased 9% over the previous January, but decreased 6% over December '09.  However the median price is up 1.5% over '09 total
Condo Sales in January 2010 increased 22% over the previous January, but decreased 34% over December '09.
