Or should I say a team effort .... Today I did a consult for a young couple. They had wisely rented a 'pod' storage unit and it was sitting in the drive waiting to be filled. When I entered the home I was greeted by a family waiting to help .... 3 sisters, a mother, a brother and the couple. It w...

Karen Fiddler did a great post about people's perceptions of Flippers. While I see nothing wrong with buying a house that needs work, fixing it up and selling it for a profit, apparently others do. This brings me to, who gets the profit, you or the flipper? I am always disappointed when a seller ...

A renovator had done a beautiful job on this house. They had spared no expense using quality materials. Yet this house had been sitting on the market for months. Why? Because this house was not a home. It was just an empty space.   Buyers could not visualize themselves or their furnishings in ...

Ok cats too! There are so many animal lovers out there. I'm one of them ;). My 10yr. old doggy wonder is asleep on my lap. Yesterday I did 3 staging consults with either a dog or a cat or both in the house. While as a person, I love meeting all these pets, as a Stager I know that they wil...

Sunday was 'one of those days' for me and my family. It started at 5:30 AM when the alarm went off. The whole experience of having a carbon monoxide monitor go off is very unsettling to say the least. Apparently that wasn't enough LOL. We were replacing the dead bolt and knob on the door out of t...

I'm tired this morning folks! At 5:30 AM my Carbon monoxide Alarm went off. I take comfort in knowing that it is loud enough to wake me. We got up to investigate so that was the end of the night. There was no reason for it to go off thank goodness. After trial and error - final test >...

I often tell my clients I am going to look at their house with the eyes of a buyer. I bring an objective eye - one without memories or emotional attachments. As I look at my own home and begin to update it I find it is very hard to look at your own home with an objective eye. I too have memories ...

I really love  my job as a Stager!!! I get to meet so many people and it satisfies my urge to play with houses;).              My husband is grateful for that because otherwise we would be redecorating or moving LOL.                             What I can't get used to is the on again ...
