A long time landmark of the area, The Powelton Club boasts an 18 hole golf course with a par of 70. Located in the Hamlet of Balmville it has been in the community since the late 1800’s and began as an archery club. Eventually the Powelton Club evolved into a full 18 hole golf course in the early
1900’s. It is one of the ten oldest golf courses in the country, and the fifth in New York State. Since 1999 it has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
