A Very Beacon Halloween The Hocus Pocus Parade is Sunday October 27th 2013 Wondering what to do this weekend? Halloween is all about pretend, having fun and eating candy. A parade is not what I'm used to, but I LOVE the costumes. When I was little my mom made me the best costumes ever. They made me feel special. I learned all about sewing from my mom and I followed that tradition with my daughters. While my sewing machine now gathers dust, my appreciation for the dedication, passion and creativity involved remains intact. Costumes and candy were always my favorite part (5 comments)

“Walkway Over the Hudson” Now In The Guinness Book of World Records! Dancing the Hokey Pokey Above the Hudson River At 212 feet & tall and 1.28 miles long this abandoned railroad bridge has recently been refurnished and turned into a pedestrian park. Spanning its reach over the Hudson River, the walkway is now a popular historical location. It already holds the record for being the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world. Now it holds the Guinness Book of World Records for hosting this Hokey Pokey Event right above the Hudson River.
