wordless wednesday: Raccoon Saloon - A Restaurant with a View in Marlboro NY - 05/08/13 05:25 PM
Wordless Wednesday - Just My Photos Raccoon Saloon Marlboro NY In Marlboro NY, about ten minutes from my house is a lovely restaurant that has been around forever. The restaurant is situated on a hill that overlooks not only this beautiful waterfall, but clear across the Hudson River. Rain kep us from getting any good shots of the river, but this was taken from our table straight down. No hiking involved. Amazing views and a great veggie burger too.

Wordless Wednesday and A Good Morning!
The sun is shining for a change and clients are coming out of the woodwork. The phone is ringing and buyers are looking to purchase new and older homes. This is a great start to the spring season. This morning was busy, but my husband made me breakfast before I had to run out to show homes. He is not the neatest chef around, but if I did not have to make it  myself.. that is priceless!!

Wordless Wednesday - I never Knew Birds Liked Cabernet
On a recent trip to Cancun my husband and I spent a good deal of time enjoying warm weather and the ocean. I love that at the resort most of the restaurants were outside under giant canopies. The open air and views of the sea made me happy.  Since the resort was all inclusive they started pouring wine at lunchtime. We even had a few guests each day for our meals. I never knew that birds would drink wine too.

wordless wednesday: Just My Photos ~ Apple Picking on a Hudson Valley Farm... - 09/18/12 11:33 PM
Apple Picking in the Hudson Valley
Wordless Wednesday
Apple Orchards outside of city life are abundant in the Hudson Valley. Only 60 miles north of NYC, Newburgh NY is in a sweet location. There is always something to do on the weekends. In the fall the hay rides and apple picking are a big treat! Instead of a simple hayride, this old truck brings people to more remote parts of the farm to pick fresh crisp apples! I find it charming. The kids, and adults, all seem to think it's super fun!

Could This Be Daddy & Me?
 ~ Wordless Wednesday ~
Taking photos of the Hudson Valley has become an adventure for my husband and me. After our outings I get to blog about all the places we go. It's fun to share some photos and info of all the Hudson Valley treasures we find. Storm King Art Center  in New Windsor is the backdrop for this photo. If only I knew this family who happened by chance to be in my photo. I would love to add it to their collection of memories. It reminds me of when my girls were … (19 comments)

wordless wednesday: Just My Photos ~ Bannerman's Island Castle - 07/11/12 06:14 AM
 Castles on the Hudson River
 Wordless Wednesday
A Gem on the Hudson River, full of history and storytelling sits this Scottish Castle in major disrepair. Pollepel Island, the original name, was home to the Bannerman’s Island Arsenal in the early 1900’s. Yes a weapons storage facility...The Island was for quite some time not open to the public. The Bannerman’s Island Trust  is now working hard to preserve and renovate. My visit this weekend was to enjoy an outdoor concert and take photos at the perfect time of day for great lighting!

Intriguing and picturesque,  The Bannerman's Island Castle … (14 comments)

Do You Hear the Beat of a Different Drum? Wordless Wednesday
I Do! Don't You?
I believe that the ActiveRain Community Hears the Beat of a Different Drum too. Maybe that is why I feel so at home. It is apparent to me that we are a diverse collective from many different pasts going and growing forward on a path less followed. How exciting that I found this amazing group of people that feel the same!

Are you Mooooving to the Hudson Valley ?

Orange County NY has some contrasting landscape, and scenery. One minute you are in the Historic District of Newburgh, and the next you are in the rural meadows and countryside. The Borden Farm that made the original Elsie the Cow famous began in Orange County NY. Driving just five to ten minutes out of town from most anywhere brings you out of the city and onto a farm. Who doesn't love a a cow?

Just My Photos  ~  A Quick Question??
Wordless Wednesday
On a recent trip to the Denver Zoo I found this beautiful creature looking right at me. Or at least it seemed that way.  It was as if he wanted to ask me something. This giraffe, with his long neck and rather pensive eyes, seemed to be gazing my way. Our eyes met briefly and then in a flash he was back to nibbling on the leaves of the trees. No Questions today...
