fort wayne third shift: General Motors to add third shift to Fort Wayne GM Plant! - 09/22/09 05:10 PM
General Motors has announced plans to add a third production shift at its pickup truck assembly plant in Allen County.
The third production shift is expected to begin operation in April, 2010.  It's part of a production ramp up by GM.   The Fort Wayne plant, which began production in 1986, has never had a third shift before.  The plant's second shift was added in 1987. The move will require the hiring of approximately 700 additional workers.   The plant currently employs about 3,000.  Great news for Fort Wayne!
