So here's what happens, you wake up and check your e-mail.  You have 50 new messages, 3 of which are relevant, the rest are automated drip campaigns with offers that you think you might want later.  If you are smart, you click spam, but most likely you leave these sitting around for "later."  You could "archive" them if you want to try to outsmart the system.
Eventually, you are satisfied with that, grab your coffee (get ready) then come back and now you have 10 more messages.  This time 1 of them is extremely relevant the rest is more "drips."  … (3 comments)

accountability: 30 Days of Blogging, Accountability and more - 02/28/10 09:08 PM
Every year I review my business as we all should and every year I notice certain ebbs and flows that I allowed myself to get into.  When business is low, I tend to blog and yes I still cold call and work the internet leads that come in.  When business is great (like right now) I tend to leave everything but the calls alone but rarely do I blog.
Last year, I had an accountability "test,"  this year I don't plan to stick to a "15 Min" increment.  My plan is more to check on my current task at least once … (10 comments)

accountability: Twitter Inspired Accountability Test - Review of Chronicles of Jarvinia - 10/28/08 11:45 PM
If you've been reading any of my blogs then you know I was trying something out with an accountability test.  For those of you who don't know, here's the basics of what I was trying to do.
A few times a year I write down my activities every 15 minutes or so.  Am I on point?  Am I focused?  It really helps to see if I am. Twitter is still something relatively new to me and I had the same opinion as my wife about it, "going out the door... sticking keys into car...wondering why the door is still unlocked...."  Doesn't … (1 comments)

If you're a friend on Facebook then you know I have a little bit of a cold.  I'm not really sure why it's the worst in the mornings and nights but it is.  So instead of posting at 5AM EST and letting everyone know I'm off to work out to keep my girlish figure, I'm here at 6:39 AM EST checking my e-mail and trying to do a few things to get a head start.

accountability: Accountability Test - Twitter Inspired, Active Rain Initiated - 10/19/08 01:11 PM
I recently blogged about accountability and I am about to put myself to the test!  After working with Twitter for some time now and reading a very interesting article about a Luxury real estate agent, I got the smart idea to blog my week.  To see if I am active as I say I am.  We'll see.   It sounds good to say you called 200 people, but where'd the other few hours go?
So my plan is blog in detail what I am doing when I am doing it on Active Rain and post occasional updates on Twitter/Facebook and LinkedIn.  I … (7 comments)
