blogging: Googles SEO Report Card - SEO TIPS - 03/03/10 05:52 AM
I wanted to fire back on Jay Teresi about his article on the future of real eastate and how he is dead right and wrong at the same time, but as usually GOOGLE trumps all. In my google reader or more correctly, my homepage there's an article about Google's SEO Report Card from a small blog. You can download the report there, but here's some nuggets. Titles Use the space provided - Most major search engines display approximately 60 characters from a page's title tag in the title of a search result. These 60 characters are an opportunity to tell both

blogging: You're a slave to your e-mail? - 03/02/10 05:18 AM
So here's what happens, you wake up and check your e-mail. You have 50 new messages, 3 of which are relevant, the rest are automated drip campaigns with offers that you think you might want later. If you are smart, you click spam, but most likely you leave these sitting around for "later." You could "archive" them if you want to try to outsmart the system. Eventually, you are satisfied with that, grab your coffee (get ready) then come back and now you have 10 more messages. This time 1 of them is extremely relevant the rest is more "drips."

blogging: 30 Days of Blogging, Accountability and more - 03/01/10 05:08 AM
Every year I review my business as we all should and every year I notice certain ebbs and flows that I allowed myself to get into. When business is low, I tend to blog and yes I still cold call and work the internet leads that come in. When business is great (like right now) I tend to leave everything but the calls alone but rarely do I blog. Last year, I had an accountability "test," this year I don't plan to stick to a "15 Min" increment. My plan is more to check on my current task at least once

CLICK HERE FOR THE SURVEY - THANKS IN ADVANCE **UPDATE** So far some great responses! Here's a some tidbits: Blogging is for Branding not lead generation. Blogging is for fun Blogging is for SEO Most agents report less than 5% of their income coming from blogging. As in directly attributing blogging as the source of business.

blogging: Teaching a class on Blogging to the Office (300+ Agents) Any Thoughts? - 09/22/08 11:08 AM
I've been tasked to come up with an hour of material for a class on blogging and I'm really not sure where to start. Actually, I do have some ideas, and it all starts with this post. HAVE A PLAN See in order to do a class I will need a plan. I need a plan for my real estate blogs and a plan for the class. Do you have a plan? Whether you are a blogger, a Realtor, a home buyer or seller, you need to be doing things "ON PURPOSE." This real estate market is not for the "try-ers"

blogging: Do you Blog Dangerously? - 04/11/08 12:29 PM
When I first started blogging I thought it was no different than what I used to do years ago, which was constantly update my webpage. The whole thing involved ftp uploads and a wee bit of code, but it was fun and it kept the content fresh. Now that I'm a year into this, I see it's a bit different. For one, there's a lot more people doing it now. It's a wonderful way to share your voice with the world, to show them how real or not you are and how informative you can be. I've been blessed with some wonderful

blogging: Yuwie - Paid Social Networking ?! Is This Thing For Real? - 01/14/08 10:31 AM
I got an invite from a client today to join Yuwie. I will admit I do have pages at Facebook, Myspace and the others. I don't actively use them, except when clients see me and such. I will admit I have never received business from these sites, but I am hoping in the next year that it will help push the envelope with some clients (as in help me close the deal). Basically, the above is just an excuse on why I have these sites. Well most recently with Konnects, Tagged and Zolve, this Yuwie is intriguing. It says, " What is

blogging: New To Blogging? Leave a Comment - 12/05/07 07:36 AM
Are you a newbie? Maybe you're familiar with blogging but you don't think you have the time or maybe the know how or maybe it's a bit daunting. You'd like to take advantage of blogging but are not sure where to start. As TJ McCue says, "it's not an all or nothing proposition." Much like a calling in to a talk radio show can sometimes lead to a career in Radio, commenting on blogs is a great way to create content in digetstable chunks as well as build your visibility through others. Here's a few tips: Pick a few keywords or terms

blogging: New Realtor.com "FREE" Blogs - Already Setup to Charge You! - 08/29/07 11:29 AM
Immediately after you sign up for a free blog you get an invoice for $0. It may seem cute at first, but it's obvious, this will be a pay for service to the tune of monthly fees in the near future. I'll be using it until then. Don't hate me because I repost (on Realtor.com). ;)

blogging: Free Blog Coming To Realtors?! - Through Realtor.com - Video From Inman News - 06/21/07 09:15 AM
I'm about to run off to Rhode Island to visit some in-laws so I won't be posting for about a week. Here's my last post for likely a week Inman News has a series of great blogging videos on YouTube (finally a good reason to visit) here's the latest all of us will be excited about. It also starts to beg the question, "Which blogging place will you use and which ones will stand the test of time?" I have some opinions on some of them particularly Real Town blogs, but that's for another time. Watch this video as they

blogging: RIS Media Highlights another Blogging Resource - 06/18/07 10:48 AM
Gone are the days that Realtors are overlooked as a segment of the population. With it being as easy as driving to walmart to get your real estate license (not literally) it's no wonder that marketeers are picking on us as a group to sell to. Someone said it best when they said, that a salesman is the worlds best customer. RIS Media, in what looks like another paid article has highlighted a blogging service that is paid for. The highlight of this is that it seems to have a backend Contact Manager as well as the ability to set up
