google: What Should Newer Real Estate Agents Do With Internet Lead Generation? - 08/03/18 12:46 PM
I've been consulting on digital marketing in Atlanta for a little over 20 years.  In that 20 years I went into full time real estate and now that I'm back to full time consulting there is one question that keeps coming up in different forms.   What should I spend my money on?  What can a new agent (aka an real estate agent with no money) do to generate leads online?  So many of those can be summed up into What Should Newer Real Estate Agents Do With Internet Lead Generation?
Exhaust Offline First
My advice to newer agents is to exhaust the offline options … (0 comments)

google: 5 Ways To Lead Generate and Improve Your Local SEO at the Same Time - 10/19/17 02:32 PM
If you're here because you're looking for lead generation tactics then you're in the right place.   Of course, this post is all about Google My business, so if you want to get started with that you can visit this great Local SEO Guide and get your page set up.
Now one of the big downsides to setting up your business page on Google for real estate agents is that it's likely that you're in an office with a bunch of other agents all using the same address.   So what we aim to show you is how to stand out from the … (13 comments)

google: Google's new criteria is coming fast! - 04/11/10 10:17 PM
This was relevant in 2010 and is still relevant in 2017!  Speed matters!
Check your speed here.
It's best to get a true SEO consultant if your site is slow.
Google is up to tinkering with their Search Engine results again!  This time it's not just the relevance of the site which will still have the most weight, but rather the speed of the page.
"Speeding up websites is important — not just to site owners, but to all Internet users. Faster sites create happy users and we've seen in our internal studies that when a site responds slowly, visitors spend less time … (4 comments)

google: Googles SEO Report Card - SEO TIPS - 03/02/10 09:52 PM
I wanted to fire back on Jay Teresi about his article on the future of real eastate and how he is dead right and wrong at the same time, but as usually GOOGLE trumps all.
In my google reader or more correctly, my homepage there's an article about Google's SEO Report Card from a small blog.  You can download the report there, but here's some nuggets.
Titles
Use the space provided - Most major search engines display approximately 60 characters from a page's title tag in the title of a search result. These 60 characters are an opportunity to tell both users and search … (1 comments)

google: Google Tackles Mortgages - 01/19/10 10:53 PM
I woke up this morning and someone sent me an email about this, Google is taking on Mortgages.  It's limited to a few states and it's not as interactive as other sites so time will tell if buyers will flock to it. It's not currently offerrred in Georgia.
Here's my thoughts on it, if you care. I don't want to go to far out here and say that LendingTree buyers are less sophiticated than folks who get referrals, but it would seem so.  Instead, this Google offerring seems to target the bankrate types of people.  I think it will ultimately fail … (3 comments)

google: Google to Buy Trulia!? - 12/20/09 10:48 PM
While getting ready this morning I stumbled onto a rumor site that said that Google may be set to buy Trulia, which makes total sense after the announcement to buyer Yelp.

"Trulia is reportedly valued between $150 to $200 million, but that doesn’t mean that is all Google would have to pay.  A few months ago the Big G acquired AdMob for $750 million, the Yelp purchase is rumored to be around $500 million and there are rumors that the company is looking to invest a total of $1.5 billion, meaning it still has $250 million to invest.  Make … (8 comments)

google: Were You Trampled by The Google Dance (again)? | Page Rank & Paid Links Change - 12/04/07 06:05 AM
Hold on to your hats boys and girls, but Goolge has done it again.  Have you checked your page rank lately?  How about your search engine position?  .... (pause to allow time for those who opened windows and are doing the checking) ....
Yep! Time to rework and re-connect to site and for some re-think their strategy.  In particular those that have paid links and advertising with certain key places and some paid link or paid content might want to review their net strategy.
"Our goal is to provide users the best search experience by presenting equitable and accurate results. We enjoy … (16 comments)

google: Keller Williams Is Dominating AOL Search Results - 10/29/07 09:32 PM
Keller Williams beats other national industry players to the punch
According to recent reports from AOL, and with more than 74,000 Keller Williams listings currently feeding into their real estate search engine, Keller Williams Realty is the only major player capitalizing on the search engine powerhouse.
That means, when online shoppers go to AOL to search for a home, they are bombarded with our Keller Williams listings, giving your listings yet another edge over other industry players.
Distributing your listings in the KWLS to AOL, and other search engine powerhouses including Trulia, GoogleBase, Cyberhomes, Homescape and more fits in with our overall strategy … (13 comments)

google: Terabitz - Trulia, Zillow, Google Hybrid Site Takes On ALL Of Real Estate - Review - 07/18/07 11:51 PM

Terabitz is one of the latest in a what seems to be a long line of Real Estate information sites.  This one is a hybrid, jack of all trades site that tries to do what a Realtor would do for a relocating client.  It's like Zillow and Trulia and Google getting together on the iGoogle site, it's like that, but not.  It's simple enough, you start off like you would with Zillow or Trulia, and enter in a property address or city and you're off to the races.
You're then given 9 blocks (one of which is a map) to customize your … (17 comments)

google: The World According to Google - Repost from RIS - 06/29/07 12:08 AM
As I was getting caught up on some web browsing, I came across the new article on RIS MEDIA's site.  Normally, I like to chastise them for putting seemingly self serving aditorials (yes I just made that up, I'm not sure if someone else has claim to it either).
They just posted a great article about Google and a little bit of history.  Finally, it poses a great question,
"Is technology empowering the real estate agent to provide a better, more professional service, or is it empowering the seller to significantly reduce or maybe even remove the role of the listing agent … (2 comments)
