social networking: Is Your Socializing Going To Cost Your Real Estate License? - 06/15/09 05:05 AM
I'm sure this issue is far from even scratching the surface. If our NAR thinks that Google is a scraper site (not sure how they even know what a scraper site is, if they think this) then advertising and interacting on social media is going to cause a lot of issues. So while Association's leadership is at Amazon looking for FaceBOOK, let's cover what rules they THINK are good one. Here's some key pointers on what you need to be mindful of Real Estate Commission rules apply to all media. In Georgia - All Advertisements require the firm's name and telephone

social networking: Does Social Media Bridge The Gap In Internet Leads? - 01/20/09 07:34 AM
I've been specializing in Internet Leads for 6 years now. I've generated a lot of them myself but I've also tried every company under the sun. From Homegain and Househunt to RECR. Some good and some bad. Internet leads tend to have one thing in common that just perplexes me. No matter how much time I spend on the phone and through e-mail, the rapport or the bond was just never strong enough. To put it in other words, the gap was sometime to wide. I'm not really sure why. I've closed 100's of transactions from the internet, but if I

social networking: NetWORK like you mean it - As opposed to Net Eat - Ideas to help you Network - 04/23/08 04:32 AM
Networking isn’t as easy as just showing up to an event and handing out business cards. Networking is an art. It's not Net-eat, net-shove-business -cards, net-relax, it's netWORK. As president of the Chateau Elan networking group, I've seen individuals of all ranges with varying ranges of success. Here are 5 tips that I have found in the more successful networkers. 1. Wait for the right window of opportunity to share your information. Show an interest in others first and then when the focus turns to you, share your business card and business goals. When someone walks in handing out business cards indiscriminately,

social networking: Yuwie - Paid Social Networking ?! Is This Thing For Real? - 01/14/08 10:31 AM
I got an invite from a client today to join Yuwie. I will admit I do have pages at Facebook, Myspace and the others. I don't actively use them, except when clients see me and such. I will admit I have never received business from these sites, but I am hoping in the next year that it will help push the envelope with some clients (as in help me close the deal). Basically, the above is just an excuse on why I have these sites. Well most recently with Konnects, Tagged and Zolve, this Yuwie is intriguing. It says, " What is

social networking: Zolve: MySpace For Realtors or Active Rain CopyCat? - 11/08/07 04:41 AM
I recently came across another online networking site similiar to Active Rain. Zolve, actually says it's the myspace for Real Estate professionals. If that's true, then I can only hope that Realtors will put their favorite obnoxious music, unprofessional photos of themselves in precarious positions and use text speak on their "blogs" so that I will shine just a little bit more. Truth is, I've been using that comparison to try to explain what Active Rain is to my office. Anytime anyone hears myspace, they either think, "oh, cool" or just "oh" and then frown. If you're on the internet you've likely
