zillow: Zillow Just Became Irrelevant... or did it? - 12/16/09 03:46 PM
It's too early for me to make a prediction about the company that has my phone ringing off the hook with people excited about their purchases, since the Zestimate is over inflated. Here's the great e-mail I received. As a valued member of the Zillow community with a home posted for sale on Zillow, we'd like to notify you of an important change. Beginning today, in order to post a home for sale on Zillow, you can either buy a Featured Listing for $9.95 per listing for a 180-day period, or, if you have 50 or more listings, you can send

zillow: Is Web 2.0 Real Estate Companies Strategy Backfiring? - 06/19/09 04:43 AM
If you're reading this than you are on the internet. No doubt you have seen the multitude of real estate websites such as Realtor.com, Trulia, Zillow and others. Although, Realtor.com is "OUR" site they still believe the same thing that all the other sites believe, including Active Rain, and that is, that the information should be available and free and easy for consumers to get a hold of. Some go further and even suggest that there might not need to be a Realtor, after all, you can get all the data you want on the internet. I truly love this! I

zillow: Zillow VS Trulia - Why is this even a Contest? - 02/15/09 08:23 PM
A quick look at Trulia and Zillow and there is almost no reason to call one of these sites a relevant site. I mean there is no comparison. One has rich and mostly accurate information, a vibrant community with intelligent questions (mostly) and content provided by a very active community. The other has grossly inaccurate estimates, a community that moderates any attempt to utilize the service, not to mention a "forum" full of questions regarding how to use the site properly. YET... The site that should be losing is routinely getting more Trulia is by far the most welcoming site on

zillow: RE: Zillow not "The Enemy" | Are you Threatened by Zillow? - 11/16/07 07:31 AM
I recently responded to a Zillow post here in Active Rain and though it might be best to address the fear of Zillow here in a longer format. You look at Trulia and it sets up the agents to answer questions and be experts, however, most of the content on Zillow is very ANTI-Realtor. I'll go toe to toe vs any discount or free service any day of the week and can tell you, not only am I cheaper than a free service, there's less legal liability and headaches at the end of the day. So no, Zillow is not threatening at all,

zillow: Keller Williams Is Dominating AOL Search Results - 10/30/07 04:32 AM
Keller Williams beats other national industry players to the punch According to recent reports from AOL, and with more than 74,000 Keller Williams listings currently feeding into their real estate search engine, Keller Williams Realty is the only major player capitalizing on the search engine powerhouse. That means, when online shoppers go to AOL to search for a home, they are bombarded with our Keller Williams listings, giving your listings yet another edge over other industry players. Distributing your listings in the KWLS to AOL, and other search engine powerhouses including Trulia, GoogleBase, Cyberhomes, Homescape and more fits in with our overall strategy

zillow: Yahoo!, Google & Mapquest Maps - Battle Royal, Review - 08/07/07 06:06 AM
About a month ago I was going to write an article about Yahoo! Maps and how the site has quickly become the best place for agents to plot their course. However, each of the dominant map pages have come out with.Well Start with Mapquest. Mapquest has been the dominant "name" leader for consumers much in the same way Realtor.com is. The alternatives have always been somewhat easier to use but it's THE map solution and for the most part, when in doubt use mapquest. A little over a year ago they had a "road trip" feature that was just outstanding, you

zillow: Terabitz - Trulia, Zillow, Google Hybrid Site Takes On ALL Of Real Estate - Review - 07/19/07 06:51 AM
Terabitz is one of the latest in a what seems to be a long line of Real Estate information sites. This one is a hybrid, jack of all trades site that tries to do what a Realtor would do for a relocating client. It's like Zillow and Trulia and Google getting together on the iGoogle site, it's like that, but not. It's simple enough, you start off like you would with Zillow or Trulia, and enter in a property address or city and you're off to the races. You're then given 9 blocks (one of which is a map) to customize your

zillow: Is the Net Ready for Un-Nethical Realtors? - 07/13/07 07:49 AM
With all the new services and blogs popping up all over the net, it creates an interesting social experiment. It begs the question, "Is the Net ready for Realtors?" Realtors are most likely the most technically unsavvy group with the poorest of poor netiquette skills. I, for example, am brutally honest with my clients. That comes across a different way on the internet. Experienced agents that were taught to sell themselves all the time, might be a social butterfly at a cocktail party but on the internet they are spammers and annoying. Case in point, visit Trulia Voices and see how
