ARE YOU IN SERIOUS SEO COMPETITION WITH THE RICH AND FAMOUS?

This post was prompted by a conversation I had recently with a Coldwell Banker colleague and fellow ActiveRain member Paul Dougherty.

While involved in an SEO discussion, I happened to mention that, from day to day, I never knew if I would show up on Google's first page. There is  another Jill Sackler who just happens to be  a famous Psychologist, a generous philanthropist and art collector. She and her late husband, Dr. Arthur Sackler, were responsible for opening art museums all over the world.

HURRICANE IRENE CLEAN-UP - 08/29/11 10:56 PM
HURRICANE IRENE CLEAN-UP

Thankfully, Hurricane Irene did not hit as hard as was expected and most neighborhoods made out okay. There was flooding across the five boroughs and parts of Long Island, massive trees that came down and power that went out for millions, However, we all know that it could have been much worse and are now prepared to deal with the aftermath: minor transportation inconveniences, clean-up and cost of putting things back together the way they were before the storm.
Today was a much-welcomed beautiful, clear and sunny day with mild temperatures.
Here are some photos from my … (19 comments)

REAL ESTATE RECOVERY - ALDI FOOD MARKET - BAYSHORE, NY - 08/21/11 09:47 AM
REAL ESTATE RECOVERY - ALDI FOOD MARKET - BAYSHORE, NY
In this tough economy, it just makes good sense to save a little where you can.
Aldi, short for Albrecht Discount, is a German supermarket chain known for it's no-frills and low-cost grocery items.
This year's expansion goals include adding 80 more stores to the 1,100  already existing in the U.S.
Just recently, Long Island's first Aldi opened in Bay Shore and I went there to visit. What I saw were items  displayed in the boxes they were delivered in and recognizable brand names nowhere to be found. A small … (11 comments)

BACK IN THE SADDLE - 08/19/11 06:21 PM
BACK IN THE SADDLE

I tried to keep to my writing and commenting schedule for as long as I possibly could, but a week before my daughter's nuptials, everything fell apart.
Cooking and cleaning took up quite a bit of time after my out-of-town guests arrived.
Life became hectic and grew increasingly more stressful when we received 10 1/2 inches of torrential downpour and widespread flooding on the wedding day. The ceremony meant to be held outdoors was moved inside.
All's well that ends well!
It was a memorable day. The ecstatic young couple is honeymooning in Ireland.

Founder of For Sale By Owner Company Turns to Broker for Help - 08/05/11 07:58 AM
This story is just too funny for words. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was worthy of a reblog. Is there a better testimonial in this world than one coming from the founder and former CEO of ForSaleByOwner.com who used a real estate professional for the sale of his own home? I think not.
