Understanding How Sleeping Reader Works.

Understanding Sleeping Reader®

How Does Sleeping Reader® Work?

This page will help you understand how Sleeping Reader® works and why it is the best reading program on the market today.

The Basics:
Ask any child what sound a cow makes and they will answer: "MOOO". A child can easily remember that a cow makes a "MOOO" sound and associates a cow with the sound "MOOO". The child can also tell you what sound a duck, horse, cat, dog, etc. makes.

The Sleeping Reader® program takes this simple technique, and brings the student through lessons that associate the names and sounds of each letter with an animal.

For an example: Alex the Antelope says "â" (the sound of the letter A).

After many repetitions of the lessons the child will begin to learn that the Antelope says "â" (the sound of the letter A). The Sleeping Reader® program will take the student through dozens of lessons where they will learn each letter sound and associate them with an animal.

Once the student knows the basics of each letter sound, the teacher will begin using the coloring/writing/alphabet exercises found on CD 4 in the Sleeping Reader® program. The student will then start to associate the sounds of each letters with the actual appearance of the letters.

As the program progresses, the student will naturally not need the animal anymore and will know that the letter A makes the sound "â" (the sound of the letter A). They will follow this progression with all of the letters and sounds in the alphabet. The student can then begin to sound out words and read.

Overall, learning to read is a 3 Step Process: (1) Learning the letter names. (2) Learning the sounds of each letter. (3) Learning the image of each letter. Most teaching methods try to teach all three steps at the same time and unfortunately many people have difficulty learning to read this way. They get confused and frustrated.

Sleeping Reader® solves this problem by teaching the first two steps before teaching the third step (learning the image of each letter). This breakthrough allows a student to learn to read up to 10 times faster than traditional learning to reading methods.

Repetition:
Another key to the Sleeping Reader® program is repetition. A common reason other reading programs do not work as well as they should (besides teaching all three steps at once), is the teacher simply cannot provide enough repetitions of lessons for the student to really learn the material.

By playing the Sleeping Reader® program during the daytime and nighttime the student will literally listen to the lessons thousands of times over the 6 month course. By working both the conscious mind (daytime) and the unconscious mind (nighttime) the student also learns and memorizes the material faster and remembers it longer than any other teaching methods on the market today.

The Sleeping Reader® lessons have a soft and soothing background music that is perfect for listening either during the daytime or nighttime. It is really fun and easy for the student to learn to read.

Easy For The Teacher:
Because of the innovative teaching methods of Sleeping Reader®, it literally takes the burden off of the teacher. Other reading courses require the teacher to devote hours (usually between 50-100 or more) to teach the student how to read.

Sleeping Reader® solves this problem and allows someone with a CD player (and a Printer to print the CD 4 Materials) to give their students the gift of reading.

Schools Teaching Students How To Read:
Overcrowding, budget cuts, etc. plague our school systems today. Unfortunately, this can lead to students not getting the education that they need to be successful in life. This is typically not the fault of the teachers who are doing the best that they can.

The parents of these students are forced to look for alternative methods to instruct their children and give them the knowledge they will need to be successful in life. Success in school and life starts with reading. The better you can read the more you can learn.

Sleeping Reader® is the answer for people who are looking to help their children read quicker, better, and easier than ever before.

Cost Effectiveness:
Most other reading courses on the market today besides having many drawbacks (listed above) are expensive. Many of them are in $50-$500 range and because of the frustrations involved typically sit on the shelf.

Sleeping Reader® costs $39.95 and is a fun and easy reading program to use for both the teacher and the student. It is not only the best reading program on the market today; it is also the most cost effective.

Babies & Infants:
Parents today are eager to give their children a leg up on the educational process. Sleeping Reader® is a great way to start your child early on the sounds of the letters. The soothing music in the program is perfect for playing during the nighttime, nap time, or while your infant plays.

Older Children and Adults that Have Trouble Reading:
When someone has trouble reading (child, teenager, or adult) they are frustrated with learning to read and sometimes give up. Many of these people unfortunately have not mastered the basics of reading and no one is typically willing to take the time and effort to teach them (or re-teach them) the basics.

Sleeping Reader® brings reading back down to its basic level and works up from there. No matter the students' age or reading ability, starting back at the basics and working up from there is the best way to learn to read (or improve their reading skills).

English as a Second Language:
Learning to read another language is much like someone who is having trouble reading or learning to read for the first time. The key is learning the basics of that language, starting from the sounds of each letter (regardless of your age).

If you are looking to be able to speak or read the English language, you will benefit by starting off with the basics of reading found in the Sleeping Reader® program. Once you have mastered the basics, speaking and reading the English language will develop naturally.

Why Should You Work For The Sleeping Reader Company.

Why Should You Work For The Sleeping Reader Company?

This is a question that so many people are asking themselves right now; with banks falling and major corporations doing huge lay- offs, working for an honest and stable company is most important.

Our Founder Jason Allen Miller was one of the first business men to create a Company model that will withstand the ups and downs of a fluctuating economy.

Mr. Miller knew that the product that we offer must be the best on the market and offer the best price (not just competitive, but the best).

He designed and implemented the Sleeping Reader Company with those two very important aspects in mind.

Let us take a look at the structure of the Sleeping Reader Company.

1. Little to No Corporate Overhead - Meaning that the Sleeping Reader Company keeps it direct expenses to a minimum and therefore is able to distribute more of the wealth to the Independent Sales Force that make Sleeping Reader possible. Low Corporate expenses also allow the Sleeping Reader Company to offer its Easy Reading Program at the best price which eliminates the need to purchase expensive reading courses.

2. Independent Sales Force Working From Home - Our work from home Sales Force has been a huge success since testing both in-house sales & those who work from home in late 2006. 87% of all people in Metro areas already use a computer connected to the internet and a telephone that has some sort of unlimited long distance, which means that 87% of people have a working office in their own home.

When our Sales Force was allowed to work from their own home, this is what they said:

A. "I do not like driving in the city traffic and love to just get up and start working".

Loraine Nelson

B. "I spend so much money on gas that I save hundreds of dollars per month working in my own home."

Courtney Miller

C. "Because I work from my own home I can be flexible with my time and do things that I would not be able to do if I worked in an office."

Fredrico Gonzalez

D. "I found that I can do more work in less amount of time, because I have no distractions in the comfort of my own home."

Sandra Ming

E. "At the end of each year I find that I can deduct a percentage of my normal household bills and many others and save money on my taxes; working as an independent Sales Person has saved me thousands."

Mike Harrison

F. "I thought that working away from the office would mean that I would not get any support, but I was wrong! As a Sales Person I have someone who is working just to take care of my needs, it is much like having an assistant."

Jeff Norman

G. "I had no sales experience when I began working for Sleeping Reader, but because this company takes away all the paper work and things that I am not comfortable with like, negotiating whole prices and shipping times I find it very easy to just sell and pass the client along when they need to take the next step. This allows me to just keep on selling and keep on making money."

Krystal Linden

H. "I have worked for other wholesale companies in the past. I left my previous job to come and work for Sleeping Reader because their commission structure is far better than other companies and they are World - Wide, so I can be anywhere and still work."

Kathleen Frontier

I. "I love working for Sleeping Reader, every week we all get an E-newsletter that credits individual people for great things that they have done like help make forms better, give suggestions, selling in other parts of the world, new sales people, sales numbers, clients that have thanked people for good work, etc. I always know that this company appreciates me and they show us by helping everyone grow in their own way."

Alice Liu

J. "When I decided to work with Sleeping Reader, They sent over a wonderful package right to my door step. This package has scripts that are awesome and easy to use, free sample of Sleeping Reader that I have been enjoying ever since and everything that I need to feel good about diving in and having some fun selling. The best thing of all is my Sales support team that is led by Donna Bishop. She is fun and gets my questions answered ASAP, takes care of making sure my clients are getting the information that they need and she keeps me updated on everything."

Laura Gisp

Sleeping Reader Company Goals

The Goal at the Sleeping Reader Company is very simple; we will grow through the appreciation and compensation of our Sales Force and offer a Reading Program that is 2nd to none both in price and value.

"Give The Gift Of Reading, The Gift Of A Successful Life."

Dear Sleeping Reader,

Dear Sleeping Reader,

Over the last year I have home schooled my daughter. It has been a challenge to teach her the basic skills of reading and it didn't seem to matter what I did, she still did not understand the basic concepts.

When I ordered your program I had been through two other courses that had failed and I just wasn't sure whether this one would be able to work for her. But after just a few weeks of beginning the course my daughter and I had a fresh look on how to approach the basic components of reading.

Currently she has 1.5 months left to go before she is done with the Sleeping Reader program and we are now being able to read together. Thank You.

Marilyn G.
Austin Texas

Sleeping Reader Customer Service:

Sleeping Reader Customer Service:

I have a young daughter named Lillian who had been struggling in her 2nd Grade Class with reading. She knew the names of the letters but could not remember the sounds that they made, making it hard for her to read even the easiest words. She was frustrated and failing almost all of her spelling tests, it become so bad that she didn't want to go to school anymore.

I asked Lillian's teacher if there was anything that she could do to help my daughter, and she replied by telling me to put her into the schools special education classes. After weeks of trying to help her myself with no luck I brought her to a specialist that diagnose the problem as Dyslexia. This problem is severe and I began to search out a program that is designed to help people with Dyslexia, and soon found Sleeping Reader.

I decided to write to your team to tell them thank you. Lillian is being able to push through her disability and finally learn how to read and write without all of the frustrations that she had been feeling before.

Thank You Very Much,
Marie Rodriguez
California

Dear Sleeping Reader Team,

Dear Sleeping Reader Team,

My Grandson was having issues with uppercase letters verses lowercase letters. In school he was taught to only recognize uppercase or capital letters, but when it came to reading a book that has mostly lowercase letters he would draw a blank.

This problem I found out latter is very common and is one the biggest reasons why you can not teach the visual image of the letters before you teach the sounds. You must learn the sounds of the letters and the name of the letters, and then you can be introduced to the visual image of the letters.

After the first two months of your program my grandson was finally starting to understand how to read the English language regardless of what form the letter came in.

Sincerely,

Dorothy McMillan
Ontario Canada

Why Do Children Fail In Reading

A lot of parents wonder, "Why is it so hard for my child to learn how to read?" The answers to this question vary for every child; but scientists have discovered that children that have reading problems are a common result from poor reading instructions or learning disabilities.

Some kids have a disability that makes reading very difficult to learn. Others come to school without the literacy experiences they need to become readers. Some children struggle because they've received poor or inadequate reading instructions.

What ever the reason is for your child, most reading deficiencies can be over come by starting back at the basics of reading and learning with proper teaching methods.

Facts about people learning to read:

•· A child can begin to learn the basics of reading in the infancy stage.

•· A child if taught properly with no disabilities should be able to read the basic sounds of their language by time their 4th-5th year of life.

•· A child that has no reading skills and is administered into school will most likely struggle with reading until 8th grade or later.

•· Learning how to read requires repetition and proper techniques.

•· Learning how to read requires repetition and proper techniques.

Does Sleeping Reader® Work Better Than Phonics Courses?

Does Sleeping Reader® Work Better Than Phonics Courses?

Here are some of the problems with phonics programs:

1. They only work if the teacher devotes between 50 and 100 hours of time to teach the student properly. Most people do not have the time and patience to properly implement a phonics program. This time constraint is often not disclosed to the customer before they purchase the program.

2. Most of the time the teacher and/or the student gets frustrated and quits using the phonics program, well before any success is achieved.

3. Due to the problems listed above, most (somewhere around 95%-99%) of the phonics programs are either not used at all, or used once or twice before being put on the shelf. This means that most phonics programs are gathering dust instead of teaching the students how to read.

4. Most people waste their money on phonics programs. The fact that most phonics programs are not used is evidence that the $50 - $500 (or more) spent on these programs was a waste of the customers hard earned money.

5. Because of the reasons above, phonics programs do not typically help people with dyslexia, dysgraphia, learning disabilities, ADHD, adults with reading problems, or people trying to learn English as a second language.

6. The human brain advances over time and has developed past the technology of phonics. This is why a 10 year old child can master a computer or other technology in a few days where as it might take years for an adult. Phonics is an outdated technology. The process of learning to read can be achieved much quicker and with better results than using phonics.

What Is Dyslexia

What Is Dyslexia

A child is considered to have dyslexia if he or she has difficulty learning to read despite having adequate intelligence, attention, motivation, and exposure to education.

Many children seem to have no trouble at all learning to read. Even when very young, they begin making connections between letters and sounds, and applying to words. For these children, the process of reading seems simple and natural. For other children, however, learning to read is a continuous struggle.

Difficulties with basic reading and language skills are the most common of all learning disabilities, affecting up to 80 percent of people who have learning problems. According to the National Institutes of Health, one out of every ten children has significant problems with reading skills.

Dyslexia is a lifelong condition that affects people all over the world. It is found in both boys and girls, and is often inherited.

Dyslexia is an "invisible" learning disability-you can't see when you look at a child, or hear it when you talk to him. As a result, many children with reading difficulties never know why they have learning problems, and never get the help they need.

Whatever her strengths or needs, dyslexia will make it difficult for her to learn to read. With appropriate assessment and corrective actions, however, most children with reading differences can learn to read.

Reading Problems

Reading Problems

•· A child if taught properly with no disabilities should be able to read the basic sounds of their language by time their fourth year of life.

•· A child that has no reading skills and is administered into school will most likely struggle with reading until 8th grade or later.

•· Learning how to read requires repetition and proper techniques.

Sleeping Reader® Reading Research

Sleeping Reader® Reading Research

Sleeping Reader® Research:

There are 3 Basic Steps to learning how to read. (1) Learning the letter names. (2) Learning the sounds of each letter. (3) Learning the image of each letter. The Sleeping Reader® Research Team has discovered that many people have difficulty learning all three Steps at once.

Another huge problem is that by trying to teach someone all 3 Steps at once (flashcards, pointing at letters in a book, other complex reading courses, etc.) this confuses and frustrates the student and thereby making the learning to read process up to 10 times longer. A major breakthrough came when the Sleeping Reader® research team discovered that by only teaching the first 2 Steps (learning the letter names and sounds of each letter) to a student and then later teaching the 3rd Step (learning the image of each letter) the process of learning to read dramatically speeds up and makes the entire process much easier for both the teacher and the student. This process works no matter where the student is in the learning to read process.

The Sleeping Reader® research team then discovered that repetition is another key aspect to learning to read quickly and effectively. The obstacle is that students do not have long attention spans and there are only so many times that you can review each lesson in one day. This is where nighttime learning effectively solves the problem. In an average night (8 hours) a student will listen to each lesson dozens of times. When you continue listening to lessons over the 6 months course - a student has literally listened to lessons thousands of times. This is the repetition and undisrupted learning that no tutor, classroom teacher, or parent can accomplish during the day.

Furthermore, the Sleeping Reader® research team has developed other memorized learning techniques used in this course that dramatically increases learning retention. These techniques have not been released to the general public to prevent copycat products and other less-effective and less-authentic competitors. When you combine all of these attributes there is no other product that effectively and easily teaches reading on the market today.

Some highlights of the Sleeping Reader® Research Team:

Early 2006 Study completed with 652 students ages 4 - 9 that were learning to read and those having trouble learning to read. Of those that completed the full 6 month course: all students showed increased results in reading, letter sounding, spelling, and word association. The following results were based on testing of the students before and after the Sleeping Reader® Program.

Reading: 92% Increase.

Letter Sounding: 98% Increase.

Spelling: 78% Increase.

Word Association: 88% Increase.

Teachers involved in the process were amazed with the results. This led to further refinements in the course and additional research.

Late 2006-2007 Study on 1175 children ages 5 - 10 that had moderate to sever reading problems and learning disabilities. Again, of those that completed the full 6 month course: all students showed increased results in reading, letter sounding, spelling, and word association. The following results were based on testing of the students before and after the Sleeping Reader® Program.

Reading: 99% Increase.

Letter Sounding: 92% Increase.

Spelling: 82% Increase.

Word Association: 84% Increase.

2007 Study completed on 363 Adults having difficultly learning to read. Again, of those that completed the full 6 month course: all students showed increased results in reading, letter sounding, spelling, and word association. The following results were based on testing of the students before and after the Sleeping Reader® Program.

Reading: 87% Increase.

Letter Sounding: 77% Increase.

Spelling: 91% Increase.

Word Association: 90% Increase.

2007 Study completed on 221 Adults and Children having difficultly learning English as a second language. Again, of those that completed the full 6 month course: all students showed increased results in reading, letter sounding, spelling, word association, and speaking English. The following results were based on testing of the students before and after the Sleeping Reader® Program.

Reading: 92% Increase.

Letter Sounding: 82% Increase.

Spelling: 79% Increase.

Word Association: 81% Increase.

Speaking English: 84% Increase.

2007-2009 Study on 524 infants using Sleeping Reader® - Early results look promising. More to come later on the results of this study.

Phonics Programs - Hooked On Phonics, Etc.

Phonics Programs - Hooked On Phonics, Etc.

Phonics Programs:

We receive a lot of email questions relating to the various phonics programs (Hooked On Phonics, Zoo Phonics, Jolly Phonics, etc.) and how they compare to the Sleeping Reader® Program. Most of the emails describe the frustrations and disappointments with using the various phonics programs.

These unhappy people are usually wondering if Sleeping Reader® might be the answer to there problems.

Our answer is YES! - Sleeping Reader® was designed to overcome the many challenges the stand in the way of phonics programs.

This is our opinion on the various phonics programs on the market today:

1. They only work if the teacher devotes hundreds of hours of time to teach the student properly. Most people do not have the time and patience to properly implement a phonics program. This time constraint is often not disclosed to the customer before they purchase the program.

2. Most of the time the teacher and/or the student get frustrated and quit using the phonics program, well before any success is achieved.

3. Due the problems listed above, most (somewhere around 98%) of phonics programs are either not used at all, or used once or twice before being put on the shelf. This means that most phonics programs are gathering dust instead of teaching the student how to read.

6. People's brains have developed past the technology of phonics. This is a very complex and in depth subject but it all boils down to the fact that people's brains advance over time. This is why a 5 year old child can master a computer or other technology in a few days where as it might take years for an adult to master. Phonics is an outdated technology. The process of learning to read can be achieved much quicker and with better results that using phonics.

Reading Program Overview

Reading Program Overview

Sleeping Reader® Reading Program Overview:

The following is an overview of the 4 CD's that are included with the program.

Sleeping Reader® CD #1

The first CD of the reading program is design to familiarize the listener with the names of the characters, the animals, and the sounds of each letter. This learning technique is based on innovative research discovered by our research team. It uses a unique and proven 3 Step learning process, repetition, and other innovative techniques to dramatically speed up the process of learning to read. When all the Sleeping Reader® techniques are applied to reading, the student is remembering the letter sounds when seeing or hearing a particular letter. Sleeping Reader® has three separate lessons on each CD , which takes the listener on an adventure from more complex letter sound associations and intricate memorized learning techniques back down to the basic letters and sounds. These lessons have been carefully placed within each CD to retain the highest capacity of attention during the sleeping state of the listener.

Sleeping Reader® CD #2

The second CD of the reading program is designed to take the listener on a fun adventure titled: let's go camping with all of our new friends. In this lesson each character has to bring one item on the camping trip, the item will start with the letter and base sound that each of the characters represent. When all of the aspects of this lesson come together in one sentence, the listener will be introduced to a broader perspective of the individual letters and sounds. Because Sleeping Reader® uses our innovative research techniques of memorized learning, all names, animals and other words that are used to describe the individual letters and sounds will be carried throughout all three CD's and each lesson contained within.

Sleeping Reader® CD #3

The third CD of the reading program is an audio test that engages the listener in the letter sound association and memorized learning skills, learned within the first and second CD. This program is designed to deliver and reinforce words and sounds as they have appeared in the previous lessons. Because the program uses positive reinforcement during the complex lesson, the listener will develop a positive and eager attitude towards the final stages of learning how to read.

Sleeping Reader® CD #4

The fourth and final process is a bonus CD for your computer that includes coloring and writing exercises designed to create visual distinctions between the letters, associating them back to the characters learned throughout the Sleeping Reader® course. These pages can be printed again and again from your computer and allow the listener to tie the entire program together thereby completed the 3 Step process.

Founder Information - Phonics Information

Founder Information - Phonics Information

History of Sleeping Reader®:

Sleeping Reader® the brainchild of our founder Jason Allen Miller. The company began in 2004 while some of his business associates were trying to teach their children how to read. At that time, many of them was using one of those expensive Nationally Branded phonics programs and having very little results. They were spending several hours per week playing the phonics games, using the flashcards, and trying to read the books with no success. They were frustrated and their children were even more frustrated.

During this time period there was an article in the newspaper about how researchers were using subliminal nighttime learning to teach foreign languages and having great success. This was the spark he needed and Sleeping Reader® was born. Shortly thereafter, Jason Allen Miller began to assemble the Sleeping Reader® Research Team, funded the project, and began research on teaching children to read using a completely different and unique approach. Go to the research page for more information on Sleeping Reader® research.

Since its inception, the Sleeping Reader® program has gone through many different stages there have been many innovations. One of the biggest innovations was the 3 Step Learning Process which is by far and away the easiest way to learn how to read. When you combine this with repetition, word and sound associations, and memorized learning you have a tremendous learning tool that is not matched in the industry today.

To learn more about the history of Sleeping Reader® click on our timeline page. To order Sleeping Reader® go to our order page.

Thank you for supporting Sleeping Reader®.

Tutor, Tutoring Sleeping Reader Is Like Having A Private Tutor

Is Sleeping Reader even better than having a private tutor?

Yes, the Sleeping Reader course is based on innovative research discovered by our research team. It uses a unique and proven 3 Step learning process, repetition, and other innovative techniques to dramatically speed up the process of learning to read. Because the system uses memorized learning it must be used multiple times during the night, which a private tutor cannot deliver.

About Us - Sleeping Reader® & Reading Comprehension

About Us - Sleeping Reader® & Reading Comprehension

About Sleeping Reader®:

Sleeping Reader® was formed by our founder Jason Allen Miller in 2005 with the purpose of developing an easy and effective way to help people learn how to read and increase reading comprehension. He was the person responsible for assembling the Sleeping Reader® research team. Originally, the research focused on children who were having difficulty reading. Later, additional research was added for very young children, adults who could not read effectively, and those learning English as a second language.

Since, it has long been known that people retain an incredible amount of information while listening in the sleeping state - Sleeping Reader® focused on this along with other groundbreaking and unique learning techniques while developing the course. Using repetition in addition to teaching reading in the correct Steps (see the Research Section of this website) and then applying these to reading, sounding letters, word association, etc. the process of learning to read (or learning English) is dramatically enhanced. The best part is that playing a CD every night for 6 months is an incredibly easy process that requires little effort by the teacher or the student.

One of the primary problems of teaching someone how to read is that it is a long, tedious process and it can be very frustrating for the student and the teacher. This is a particular challenge for those with learning disabilities. Also, most parents just do not have the time to read to their children every night, let alone take the time to try to actually teach them how to read. In addition, the school system typically has few answers for children who have difficulty reading, spelling or sounding words properly. Furthermore, adults that have trouble reading or learning English also usually find the process difficult and give up before any real success is attained. Sleeping Reader's® goal is to effectively overcome these problems by giving people an easy solution for those who are having trouble with reading or learning English.

The research team at Sleeping Reader® has created the 4 CD - 6 Month learning program which is now available to the general public. The tremendous success of the course has allowed Sleeping Reader® to expand across the United States and Canada. Order yours today - be one of our Success Stories! Give the gift of reading - the gift of a successful life!

Contact Sleeping Reader®:

For more information on SleepingReader® contact us at:

SleepingReader.com®
12819 SE 38th Street Suite #19
Bellevue, WA 98006
Phone: 888-55-READER
Email: support@easyreadingprogram.com

Click here for more information on reading comprehension.
