Over the past week or so, a number of people have mentioned and/or asked about my new blog header and the matching buttons in the signature of my posts. Well, it's all part of a branding campaign for a site that I am "officially" launching today: http://theaustindude.com.
I intend to use this going forward as a place to write about local events, real estate stuff, and whatever else interests me. I will share many of those posts here on ActiveRain as well.

Facebook recently had its sixth birthday. During the same week, they announced that they had crossed the 400 million member mark (how's that for a bit of alliteration?). Facebook has morphed from a college photo sharing site in 2004 to a mega-networking platform with multimedia capabilities. Basically, it's THE place to be these days.

I recently started a consulting business with my friend Jeremy Blanton to serve as a resource for those who want to learn more about using social media tools, and how to use them to bring in more tangible business. So far, we've had a couple of webinars and we are planning for two more soon.
