hr 3200: Health Care Reform Bill (HR 3200) - My Reading Continues.... Now I'm Mad and Even More Motivated to Finish - 10/08/09 09:40 PM
I resumed my reading of HR 3200 over the past day or two, having been bogged down with actual money-making behaviors (imagine that!).  If you would like to see all of my previous posts on this topic, you can visit my site at:
http://IfCongressWontReadItIWill.com The notes below are for pages 368-434, out of a total 1,017.  The next post should take us to the midway point of the bill.  :)
Interestingly, my eight-year old daughter announced yesterday that she intends to read the entire unabridged dictionary, which is a mere 2662 (very large) pages with very small font.  Frankly, I believe … (22 comments)

hr 3200: Making Progress in HR 3200! - 09/25/09 08:05 PM
This is part seven in my ongoing series of posts, as I read through the entirety of HR 3200 (which is 1017 pages as of this writing).  I'm sorry that I haven't taken the time to jazz up these posts with graphics, etc.  I guess the content doesn't really lend itself to funny pictures as much as most of the stuff I write.  :)
If you would like to see every post, you can visit my new site at:
http://IfCongressWontReadItIWill.com I am planning to make it a bit easier to sort the posts there soon.  On another note, I apologize to those … (13 comments)

hr 3200: No, I really haven't forgotten about it - Thanks for asking, though! - 09/24/09 10:40 PM
It has been 8 days since my last post about HR 3200.  I wanted to give a very quick update - I haven't given up on this project, or forgotten about it.  I do want to thank those of you who have taken the time to ask when the next installment will be forthcoming.  I have just had a busy week with real estate stuff and, unlike our representatives in Congress, I am not being paid to read this.
Lots of people have been clamoring for the next post.  Well, maybe "clamoring" would be overstating things a bit.  Let's just say … (5 comments)

hr 3200: Reading....and reading....and reading - HR 3200 (Pages 255-304) - Lots of Questions on this part! - 09/16/09 10:19 PM

This post is #6 in an ongoing series of posts as I read through the entire proposed health care legislation, HR 3200.  You can visit my new blog site to see all of them in one place:

I am about 30% of the way through the bill at this point, having taken a break over the weekend.  As I expected, I have seen some very interesting stuff during my reading, most of which I haven't seen covered by the traditional media on either side.  This particular section revealed a pretty big error in need of correction.
Without further … (8 comments)

hr 3200: "If Congress Won't Read It, I Will" - Big Thanks to Ken Cook - 09/14/09 01:07 PM
As you may already know, I have been reading through the entire proposed health care bill, HR 3200, and blogging as I go.  Someone suggested that I start a separate domain for this in order to make it easier for people to find, so I did.
I am using IfCongressWontFindItIWill.com as a repository for all of my posts on this topic (and perhaps other related topics if I deem fit to do so).  So far, I have read 25% of the bill.
I needed some help setting up Wordpress and getting started with the new domain.  Thankfully, my good friend Ken … (7 comments)

hr 3200: A Layman's View of the Proposed Health Care Bill (HR 3200) - Part Three (rest of Title II) - I am 14% of the Way Through This Thing! - 09/07/09 06:09 PM
I am continuing my read-through of the entire proposed health care bill, HR 3200.  I also started a new domain over the weekend which will serve as a repository for all of these posts, along with any other pertinent information that I choose to include there:

Here are the first two parts, in case you missed them:
A Layman's View of the Proposed Health Care Bill (HR 3200) - I am reading through the whole thing....slowly

My notes on the remainder … (22 comments)

hr 3200: A Layman's View of the Proposed Health Care Bill (HR 3200) - Part Two (Title II, Subtitle A) - 09/02/09 10:15 PM
In case you missed the first part of my full reading of the proposed health care bill HR 3200, here it is:
A Layman's View of the Proposed Health Care Bill (HR 3200) - I am reading through the whole thing....slowly
After my first post on this topic, I was a little surprised at how many emails and phone calls I received, the overwhelming majority of which were in support of what I am trying to accomplish.  However, there were also a handful of not-so-nice messages mixed in.  One person called me "naive" (I feel like I am probably closer to "hardened" sometimes), … (23 comments)

hr 3200: A Layman's View of the Proposed Health Care Bill (HR 3200) - I am reading through the whole thing....slowly - 08/30/09 09:12 PM
I decided about 3 days ago to read the entire proposed health care bill, HR 3200, also known as America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009.  It has been hotly debated lately, and I wanted to know firsthand what was contained therein that could inspire such passion on both sides.
I have never been one to allow others to form my opinions for me, and I have a feeling that this particular topic is one that will be discussed for some time.  I want to be able to speak knowledgably about this issue.  There is no better place to garner this … (175 comments)

hr 3200: I am on a Quest That I Started Last Night - It's only 1,100 Pages Long, After All - 08/28/09 12:04 PM
After watching debates about the proposed health care bill HR 3200 over the past few weeks, I have heard one common refrain from both sides:
"Have you even read the bill?" To this point, I didn't feel comfortable entering a detailed discussion about this bill, because I couldn't honestly state that I had.
That is about to change.  Last night, I began a journey of sorts.  I intend to read the entire bill.
Yes, I know that it is not in its final form, but it's a start.  I want to see for myself what the truth is.  I don't like … (17 comments)
