I wanted to write this post to publicly recognize one of our favorite family restaurants, located in the La Frontera Shopping Center in Round Rock, near the intersection of I-35 and Toll 45. It's in the same strip with Chipotle and Maggie Moo's Ice Cream. They have three locations in Austin and one in San Antonio, but this review is specific to the one we frequent. Fire Bowl Cafe features a wide variety of options, including soups, salads, choose-your-own-adventure stir fry, and some premade dishes, including orange chicken, pad thai, General Tso's, sweet and sour chicken, and more. restaurant review: VIDEO - Our Trip to the "Magic Time Machine"

My wife grew up in San Antonio, and we like to visit periodically, since it's only about an hour and a half from our house. About 3 weeks ago, we took a weekend trip to just hang out and relax a bit. My older kids LOVE to eat at the Magic Time Machine. In the video below, you can experience our visit, too! The restaurant is located at 902 NE Loop 410. My wife and I took our three kids to La Margarita tonight, which is located in north Round Rock, just south of 3406 on the southbound frontage road of I-35. I had heard some great things about this place from a friend of mine who called it his "favorite Mexican restaurant". Overall, I was pleased with the outcome, and we will likely return. The kids each tried something different from the kids' menu. Our youngest really enjoyed the chicken strips and fries, although at age two she is not very discerning yet. Yesterday, while my mom was still in town, we decided to go do a bit of shopping with the whole family. We were headed to Lakeline Mall, and we originally considered going to that area to eat. On the way there, I decided that would be ill-advised, considering it was the day after Christmas and it was exactly "lunchtime" (i.e. around noon). Instead, we opted to go to Zorba, which is a Greek restaurant located near Dell in Round Rock, just in front of the Wal-Mart.

They recently opened a restaurant in the Arbor Walk shopping area in north Austin (which appears to be a chain, but this is the first one I have seen), and my wife and I kept making fun of the name:
Once, when she was shopping in the area with our kids, she couldn't help but laugh because two ladies exited the restaurant with noticably large potbellies themselves.
