Quick disclaimer: This is a sincere book review and it contains my honest opinions, and I haven't been compensated in any fashion for this. That being said, I consider Shel Israel to be a friend now, so I will dispense with any formality (i.e. I won't be referring to him as "Mr. Israel" here).
Having had a chance to speak with Shel Israel when he appeared twice on our radio show this past year, and having met him in person when he was in Austin, I was looking forward to acquiring my own copy of his latest book, "Twitterville".

I remember getting invited to check out Twitter about 2 years ago. Next, I remember thinking that it seemed useless. Months passed....I got emails that said things like, "@delicioushair is now following you on Twitter". WHAT?!? Why?
The notion of someone following me used to strike me as both odd and off-putting. I guess it sounds catchier than saying that someone is "paying attention to you on Twitter", but that's basically exactly what this means. Tomorrow morning (or afternoon, depending on where you live), we are excited to have Shel Israel joining us for the second time. He was a guest of the show exactly six months ago today. Shel's first book, "Naked Conversations", which he co-wrote with Robert Scoble, is considered to be one of the seminal books on business blogging. His NEW BOOK, "Twitterville", is going to be released on September 3rd.

In case you didn't already know (i.e. you don't normally read my blog), Ken Cook and I have been hosting a one-hour show called Twitter Tuesday every week at 11am Central (noon Eastern, 10am Mountain, 9am Pacific) on BlogTalkRadio. We have a guest or two each time, and we talk about various social media topics and using them to grow your business.
Sometimes, we just riff on each other and use funny sound effects and music to make each other laugh. It pretty much depends on our mood.
Currently, we are averaging 222 listeners per show for February.
