Yeah, don't think so. Not anymore. Most people who are working long hours are not working hard. I meet tons of people who originally get into real estate because the have visions of controlling their own schedule, of spending more time with family/friends, etc. The sad truth is, most quickly learn this joke: You can set your own schedule in real estate...you get to work any 7 days a week you want! This bothers me and there are three things you can do as you come back to work Monday to restore balance to your life.

Are you a GOOD Realtor? My guess is yes; most everyone scraping by is GOOD. You passed the test, you can work with contracts and forms, you can "do the transaction"...you're GOOD. This also means you're on your way out of the business, because being good is rarely good enough. I talk to my students a lot about becoming world class and this morning read a quote by Helen Pastorino in REALTOR Magazine that served as a great reminder: "these days, the advice is the value and the execution of the transaction is the side bar.".
