A season of unusually heavy snowfall is making access to Yellowstone more challenging than normal this Memorial Day holiday weekend.
For the first time since 2005, the Beartooth Highway will not open in time for the holiday weekend.

The Gallatin RiverThe Gallatin River is located just west of Bozeman and is known for it's abundance of fish and it's unbelievable scenery.  Starting about 70 miles south of Bozeman and flowing North following U.S. Highway 191 most of its length, the Gallatin has easy access and is a great choice for wade fishing all year long.
Current Conditions & Fishing Strategy05/23/2011 The Gallatin is pretty dirty for now with flooding around Greek Creek. Probably a good time to stay away from the river and do a little hiking.

One might think Bozeman High School seniors – recipients of a get-out-of-school-early card Wednesday — might have spent the afternoon lolling about with the friends they're about to leave behind after graduation.
Or perhaps the more studious among them would use it to prepare for finals.
Not so for more than 60 seniors who opted instead to donate four hours of their time to a variety of nonprofits in the area.
