Below is a summary of sales for March 2011, from the Commercial Broker's Association (CBA). I note the source because it is likely that not all sales that occurred are included. CBA data is a mixture of sales reported by their member agents and researching of sales that happened outside the system.
I have compared these numbers to similar data available from LoopNet, the national commercial real estate listing service. I've been trying to figure the best way to share information about my services with prospective clients and make it more interesting than static web pages. So I searched the web and found some useful info. Lots of info is provided about using special programs, but I found enough info to put together something for free.
The first step is to save your PowerPoint presentation as individual image files (jpegs, bmps, gifs, etc.). (Save As on the File menu) The next step is to use Microsoft Movie Maker (if you are running a recent version of Windows, like Vista). I've mentioned … (10 comments)

I'm always a little bothered and a little fascinated when I see a commercial property listed by a residential real estate agent in the local area.
One obvious reason is... I wish I was the agent.
But, I have to admit to being at fault... if the seller didn't know about me, how could they know to contact me? So, one of the things that bothers me is the indication I'm not doing a good job of marketing my services. But, it also indicates that other commercial agents are not doing a good job either... because they didn't get that listing, … (2 comments)

commercial real estate: Duvall, Washington Commercial and Residential Market Update (4/5/09) - 04/05/09 05:00 PM
"Pending" seems to be the word for the week in Duvall. On the residential side of things, business seems to have again picked up with the nicer weather, good rates, etc. Six homes went "Pending" or "Pending Inspection" this past week. And, only 5 new ones came on the market, including 1 condo. One of the new homes is actually just a listing of a new construction home, so really its been on the market all this time, just not in the MLS.
No new short-sales or foreclosures on the market, which is a nice thing to see.

Well, I didn't report on things last week. There just wasn't much to report on.
This week has shown some good activity. End of month and better weather mean an up-tick in real estate activity.
On the commercial, side, little has changed. A new building went up for sale in downtown. The business closed down. I have to admit to not even realizing the business was ever open until a few months ago... I guess that is why it closed. There is a lot of space for lease right now, and more coming up, I'm sure.
