Aroma Marketing? Not a new concept, but one that is not very well known or publicized, and certainly not being used to it's full potential. Introducing this means of promotion for us has been an effort based mostly on experience. Allow me to elaborate.

Being that we are a coffee house & roastery with a brick and mortar location that has been established since 1995 we have had more then our fair share of experiences with peoples reaction to the aroma of fresh roasted, fresh brewed coffee. So much so, that we started to map peoples response when they would first walk through the door. Overwhelmingly their response has been, and continues to be, positive and consistent. Their response has been. "OH!" "It smells so good in here." We started hearing this so often that we decided to do an entire radio campaign using the slogan Aaah Jax! Here is a copy of the thirty second commercial we ran on the local radio station. Here is the sound clip.

This turned out to be quite a successful campaign for us. We developed 3 other thirty second spots mentioning or questioning peoples coffee experience all in the effort to key in on the one thing that brought it all together. THE AROMA EXPERIENCE!

We started asking some direct questions of our target market like:

Don't you just love the aroma of fresh roasted coffee?

Wouldn't you love to be able to serve a wonderful cup to your guest?

Don't you think it's great when a good meal is finished off with a great cup of coffee and a dessert?

The answer to the above questions was always YES! This set the foundation for us to start developing a way to utilize that wonderful aroma, already proven to be captivating, and use it for promoting the service and business of others.
