How Much Does It Cost To Fly To California? - 01/31/10 10:58 AM

Friday I heard some interesting statistics on Nancy Pelosi's spending habits.                          That's spending as in OUR MONEY! It costs 1 million a year to fly her home to Calif on her private U.S. jumbo plane for the weekend.  It's not like she couldn't use some smaller private jet that would be less expensive.
She travels with an entourage.  Friends, family, Aids and a collection of hangers on.  Do we foot the bill for housing and feeding her Aids when they arrive in California for the weekend? Her food and liquor bill just for her travel was $100,000.00.  How … (46 comments)

Obama Takes Questions From GOP - 01/30/10 11:26 AM

Yesterday the President was the guest of House Republican leaders at the congressional GOP issues conference. The questioning was pretty respectful and Obama fielded them with ease.
Things heated up when Jeb Hensarling, a former chief of staff to ex-Sen. Phil Gramm of Texas, asked the final question. His question was framed as a critique of the "unconscionable debt", Obama had piled onto us and our children. Hensarling indicated Democrats has ignored Republicans and prevented them from offering input on 2009 budget issues.  He dismissed the Obama economic stimulus as being bad for the economy.

The People Of The United States Have Two Enemies To Fear - 01/30/10 08:03 AM

Looking to our Founding Fathers for guidance is eye opening.  Our country was founded by Patriots who risked everything, including their lives and fortunes to assure our country would be free from tyranny.
Most Americans have never read our Constitution or our Bill of Rights.  These two documents are the foundation on which our country has flourished and remained free for over 200 years.  The Constitution is the road map to provide freedom to the people, and restraints to the government. Super Bowl Ads For Political Candidates - 01/14/10 11:04 AM

The Associated Press reported that the Supreme Court is considering lifting the ban on Corporations, Unions and wealthy individuals from funding campaign ads.  The ruling could affect the upcoming 2010 elections and the 2012 Presidential election.

A ruling is expected as early as Tuesday. Lifting the ban would change the entire advertising strategy used by candidates.  It could become the sky is the limit with TV ads presented during prime time.  Super Bowl style ads costing millions could bombard the public during this critical election cycle.

Caution ~ Traffic Lights Could Kill You! - 01/14/10 10:46 AM

Recently I read an article in the Scranton Times-Tribune concerning LED traffic lights.  The Federal Energy Policy of 2005 banned the use of incandescent lights in favor of LED's.
Traffic lights in North East Pa have been converted to LED over the past seven years.  Almost immediately it was apparent that in bright sunshine the lights are difficult and sometimes impossible to discern the color.  Sun light reflecting off the lights makes them all appear to be lite. At least one traffic fatality in Illinois has been directly related to LED use. A 34 year old driver was making … (4 comments)

I Have A Confession To Make ~ Hope You Will All Understand - 01/13/10 11:35 PM

I've taken much flack for my political position since I started blogging.
Some of it has been good natured.  Some of it has been down right low down gutter trash. More than once I've been called a Conservative, Repug, and all manner of labels.
I've often posted that I was a lifelong Democrat.  I've been called a liar by liberals who cannot believe I do not rubber stamp their views. License To Sell A Home ~ Politics And Real Estate Go Hand And Hand - 01/13/10 09:50 PM

Tonight I received this email from my broker.  I thought the issue was extremely important to all Realtors and wanted to pass it along.

I've heard that Cap and Trade contained a provision which could cause homeowners to retrofit their homes prior to selling them.

We know that would be a huge financial undertaking for owners prior to selling a home.  Potentially it could deal a terrible blow to an already floundering Real Estate market.

Harry Reid Continues To Dishonor Us - 01/11/10 02:52 PM

Via Steve Hoffacker - Real Estate Sales & Marketing Consulting and Strategies (Hoffacker Associates LLC):
It seems that two years ago Harry Reid said some very uncomplimentary things about then Candidate Obama. They could be construed as racist remarks. There is little doubt that a Republican saying as much would be publicly chastized or worse.

20 More Trained To Blow Up Planes - 01/09/10 06:49 PM

According to Abdulmutallab there are 20 more men being trained in Yemen to blow up airliners.
British Intelligence has also confirmed his claim.  The enhanced directive to screen all of those coming in from 14 targeted countries was based on the information supplied by Abdulmutallab.

20 Million Collect Unemployment ~ 30 Million Don't Have Health Care ~ Are These Numbers Related? - 01/02/10 10:38 AM
