social media: SEO Tips You Can Start Using TODAY! - 03/22/12 06:54 AM
Everyone seems to be talking about Google Juice and how to help SEO (Search Engine Optimization) but man, that sure sounds scary. Why not just hire the nearest high school kid to take care of this for you? Never fear! These tips should help you until that kid gets home from school to help: 1) What's in a Name?Naming a file is SO IMPORTANT! Do you know how SMART those Google robots are that crawl our sites? Get in the habit of naming your images more than just IMG2334.jpg because that means NOTHING to a bot. How about "01_Living_Room_123_Main_Street_Liberty_MO.jpg" Yeah. It's (89 comments)
social media: Is Direct Mail more powerful than Social Media? - 09/01/11 10:06 AM
Tweet me. Friend me. Fan me. Yeah, I get that. I'm the first to hop on and try Google+ and check in on Foursquare. Social media is a game changer for sure. But have we forgotten about it's older (and kinda uglier) big sister: Direct Mail?? Yes, this is the epic battle: In this corner, the New Kid, young and nimble, loved by all, give it up for SOCIAL MEDIA! And his challenger, former champion and come-back kid, Mr I-Still-Am-Worthwhile DIRECT MAIL! Everyone is quick to praise how you can target exact people with your Facebook ads, but direct mail just (7 comments)
social media: Top 5 iPad Apps for Real Estate - 08/04/11 12:00 PM
After I wrote a blog about "How to Use the iPad for Real Estate" a couple of weeks ago (click here to read it!) I've had a bunch of comments and emails about what specific apps I've been using to make it work. Let me say that I'm not paid by any of these guys to push their apps and there are many ways to use the iPad in our biz, but these are the ones that I've seen to be most helpful:
1) PDF Expert (cost $9.99)So why did you buy an iPad? "I want my client to sign (21 comments)
Thanks to all of you who supported me in my Make-a-Wish foundation fundraiser! We raised $136 in a little over 48 hours for the Kansas City chapter! All as an experiment through the power of ActiveRain and Facebook. HOW? I asked for my friends and ActiveRain Rainmakers to LIKE my Fan page (see the box to the right >>>> ) and for each LIKE I would donate $1 to the Make-a-Wish foundation. I didn't really know what to expect and it was great to see friends and fellow Realtors re-posting the status on their walls to help out. The (3 comments)

social media: 2 Quick Facebook Tips to Gain Exposure - 06/25/11 11:31 AM
Facebook is amazing. I've closed two transactions this year so far directly from Facebook. This week, I've picked up two new buyers directly from Facebook. Are you out there using this FREE tool?
