Tookies Grill, others opening a Garner locations - 03/29/10 11:15 AM
I have not heard anything about Tookies Grill opening up in Garner, but a quick drive down 5th Street to Aversboro Road wrote the headline! They are located at 1322 Fifth Ave. in the Forest Hills Shopping Center. I realized after I passed that I saw the marquis sign was up and they were busy working inside. They make awesome chicken salad! In other notes about Garner, the new Planet Fitness is under construction at 1885 Aversboro Road, in the Timber Landing Shopping Center next to Lowes Foods. They hope to open by late spring. Last, but not least, they are (4 comments)
Congratulations! You don't qualify for the Federal Housing Tax Credit. - 03/24/10 03:41 PM
For a law that is meant to entice you to move, there's a catch. I am working for a couple that married last August and they are selling their home now in order to move up. They just discovered they don't qualify for the tax credit. Here are the details: Single woman buys a townhouse in 2004 Boyfriend moves in with her in 2008 They marry in late 2009 The husband has never owned a home I feel it's understandable that they don't qualify as first time home buyers, but here's the problem: The new husband hasn't been in the current (1 comments)
Home sales snowed in? - 03/23/10 11:13 AM
Existing home sales reports for the southern region (Last I checked, Raleigh is in the south, right?) dropped 2.4% from January to February 2010 but rose 3.8% over Feb, 2009. Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist, said widespread winter storms in February may mask underlying demand. “Some closings were simply postponed by winter storms, but buyers couldn’t get out to look at homes in some areas and that should negatively impact near-term contract activity,” he said. The national average sales price dropped 1.8% from Feb, 2010 while distressed sales accounted for an estimated 35% of total home sales. If you can swing (2 comments)
Twitter Tools for WordPress - 03/23/10 09:13 AM
I have been blogging professionally for years now and I have had some great successes with it. However, social media is growing so fast that it's tough to keep up! I started using WordPress and hosting my own blog/ static site to gain control over it all and so far I'm extremely happy. I wanted to combine my blog with Twitter and try to keep it seamless. Updating multiple services just takes up too much time. After a about a full day of researching, I found Twitter Tools. If you are using WP, it's a great plug-in adding value to my (2 comments)
Why I love living in Garner, NC - 03/02/10 02:09 PM
I moved to Garner in 2003 because I wanted a larger lot, a garage and quick access to downtown Raleigh. I got all that and so much more! I am surrounded with shopping and if you know me, I go to Home Depot and Lowe's sometimes 3+ times a weekend getting things done. You'd think I'd be better at making lists by now. To put how close I am to downtown Raleigh in perspective: 5.7 Miles to the Raleigh Convention Center. Why is this important? I want agents to bring their clients to Garner! It's simple, I want to be sure (0 comments)
WordPress Users- WordCamp is coming to Raleigh, NC - 03/01/10 11:08 AM
I've never been so excited about something so Greek to me. I have been using WordPress for a few years but I have only ventured into it's full usability over the past year for my real estate website. I am looking for resources where I can and I'm stoked that Raleigh is hosting a WordCamp event. The event is planned for May 22-23, 2010 at the Sheraton Raleigh Hotel. There will be speakers from around the country and tracts for beginners as well as advanced users. WordCamp Presenters will be covering WordPress, social media, and community building during the two day event. There will be (1 comments)
