My First Full Week with Bells Palsy - Ups and Downs - 06/29/09 11:12 AM
As you may have read previously, I have Bells Palsy.  I'm attaching the WEB MD Page, to get a better understanding of this condition. There is no pain what so ever. A quick explanation is that the left side of my face is on vacation. All facial expressions are only displayed on my right side. Its very ODD to me still even though its been a week.
According to my doctor, this should only last a few weeks to a few months. People I've talked with who have had it or know of someone that has, all have said it cures itself. … (19 comments)

Why Choosing the Right Agent Matters When Selling Your Home - 06/29/09 09:41 AM
My AR Friend Erik in Kentucky shares some great tips on selecting a Real Estate Agent in Kentucky. The tips are great though and should be considered no matter where you live. A fantastic read (with a few 'dirty secrets').
Via Erik Hitzelberger, --Louisville-Bullitt County Real Estate (RE/MAX Alliance):
Selling your Louisville Area Home Whether you are trading-up, downsizing, relocating, or simply have to; you have decided to sell your home.  You obviously want to do so as quickly and for the most money as possible.  To achieve these goals, you need to find a good agent.  Unfortunately, this is where some sellers go wrong … (0 comments)

Are you spending your advertising money wisely? - 06/27/09 01:55 PM
I'll warn you now... this is a long post, but I certainly feel its worth the read.
This post came about when I received this ridiculous email and posted about it on Activerain. Clearly the person was not focused on his Target Audience. So, this post had been in the works for a little bit, thus making it so long. I tried to make it a little smaller by cutting out pictures. Some of you won't read it all the way because it has not pictures and that is okay too. The the rest of you, I hope you enjoy and … (7 comments)

Have You Signed the HVCC Petition? Only 40,178 people have - 06/27/09 09:46 AM
By now you may have read this within the newsletter or possibly noticed it was featured, but just in case. Please notice that Donna has added the Petition for you to sign which requests the HVCC to be revisted. Take a moment to sign. We've noticed lower appraisal number due to inexperienced appraisers and also slower turn times.
Its in all of our best interest for the HVCC to be revisited.

Have you signed the petition for the HVCC?  Have you seen the petition?

Do your kids have a 'Toon'? Disney's ToonTown can be a lot of fun! - 06/25/09 10:38 AM
A 'Toon' is a character that you create for an online Disney Game called ToonTown.  For as little as $79.95 a year, your kids can create up to 6 Toons and play online with other kids (and some adults). Thats right, some adults even play this game. Typically, the adults have kids that also play online. For example, my kids each created 2 toons and the other two belong to my wife and I.
This is a SAFE online game for your kids. Why so safe? Well, although you do play with other kids online, you can not type a direct … (4 comments)

Bells Palsy - What it is and Why I'm blogging about it... - 06/24/09 03:00 PM
I'm not sure if you are familiar with a condition called Bells Palsy. Its named after a Charles Bell. Long story short, there is no clear reason how this condition comes about nor how long it will last. It can be as quick as a few days or could be several months.
The condition itself is where half of your face becomes paralyzed.  Its not numb and there is no pain. Its just like your muscles took a vacation without leaving a note. It can happen to either side and show up with no warning at all.
I am learning about this … (14 comments)

Hoop It Up in Dallas Texas - June 20 & 21 2009 - 06/19/09 01:27 PM

Well, its back. Hoop It Up is a 3 on 3 basketball tournament that travels from state to state. This event comes to Dallas twice a year, once in April and again in June. If you are a basketball player, there are a few options if you are interested in playing. The tournament is played in Arlington at the Texas Ranger Stadium. Not the actual stadium, but the parking lot itself.

Interested in playing? If so, you just need to choose between 3 official divisions. Two of the three divisions are broken down even further, depending on your age … (1 comments)

Tenants are now protected when a property is foreclosed - 06/13/09 11:14 PM
Richard Weeks was kind to put this in writing and I thought I'd pass it on. Great information for Tenants.
Via Richard Weeks, REALTOR®, Broker Associate, GRI, ePRO, eAgent (Bill Griffin Real Estate):
A new federal law called "The Helping Families Save Their Homes Act of 2009", has a provision that gives protection to tenants of foreclosed properties.
Now a tenant who occupies a property under a bona fide written lease as the result of an arms length transaction, and are paying not substantially  less then fair market rent must be given 90 day notice prior to evection because the property was foreclosed.

3 down and 1 to go - NBA Finals! - 06/12/09 10:20 AM
Back in April, I wrote a post about the NBA Finals.  At that time, I was pulling for 3 teams - Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Boston Celtics.  I would have written more about the play-offs but didn't want to bore you with my feelings about officiating, players, stats, etc.
Typically, the first round of the play-offs are pretty boring.  This was not the case for the Celtics and the Bulls.  This had to be one of favorite 1st round series I have ever watched.  It was One Big Shot after another. Originally, this was suppose to be a … (11 comments)

Speechless Sunday - Just When You Think You Have It All Figured Out... - 06/09/09 04:11 PM
I think that Gary Woltal pushed this cat in just for this picture.  Look at that cat's face.. she is looking right at him.  Even the dog knows that Gary's in big trouble.  I suggested that Gary sleep with one eye open for a little while.  What do you think?

Coffee with the Mayor of Frisco Texas - 06/05/09 08:10 PM
Each Month Mayor Maso hosts a 'Coffee with the Mayor'. Its a very informal meeting where Mayor Maso will answer questions from Frisco Residents about anything pertaining to our wonder city. Typically, these meetings are held on the 5th floor of City Hall and there are between 20-30 attendees.
A few months back, Mayor Maso thought of changing up the scenery and hosting these meetings at various locations.  The first time, the meeting was held at the Frisco Emergency Operations Center.  For more information from about that meeting, check out the What Happened During "Coffee with the Mayor" post I wrote.  It … (11 comments)

An Update On My SEO Progress - Courtesy of Coach Katerina (and AR of course) - 06/04/09 06:03 PM
How often to you search for yourself or your website through Google, Yahoo, MSN, and most recently Bing?
According to statistics, Google is still the #1 search engine used.  Seeing as Google is number one, I wanted to take some time to understand how SEO works.
A few months ago during a meeting with Loreena Yeo, she introduced me to Katerina Gasset (Coach Katerina) who is also a member of ActiveRain.  For a small price, I learned a TON about Search Engine Optimization.  And although nothing about SEO is black and white, I certainly picked up enough tips to be lethal … (16 comments)

Congratulations to Me - I Have Officially Surpassed 100K Points on ActiveRain!! - 06/04/09 08:58 AM
In May 2008, I met a Realtor in Little Elm RE/MAX by the name of Linnea Lavell.  She told me about quite a few Real Estate Networking Sites, one of which was ActiveRain.  I signed up for a few days and just played around.  Towards the end of June 2008, I wrote my first blog post.  5 minutes after posting, I received my first official comment and then 15 minutes later, I received another.  I knew from that point on that I was addicted to the feedback and attention - and that was before I found out about the GOOGLE JUICE and … (30 comments)
