Today is the first day of my assuming the Office of the Presidency of the Bedford Stuvesant Real Estate Board. It was an unexpected promotion, as our former President had to step down for compelling and quite understood personal reasons
It is quite a challenge given the real estate economic environment. So many realtors/realtists are leaving the field, working part-time or silently suffering. My first thought was-How do I survive and help others too .
I have a daughter who is a senior in High school and ready to go to college. I never worried about it before because i always thought I would just refinance and write a check- HAHa-Need a New Plan.
I have a senior citizen mother in Virginia who cannot understand why I can't visit more. I have a teenager who doesn;t want to leave town because....she is a teenager in school.
I have a very supportive mate who joined my real estate company and now we have been working as partners for the last year. Yes, the worst year in real estate is when he began. but- he is very optimistic and says if we work our plan we will do all right-So... I am stepping out on faith which has always sustained me and in God's Hands, I pray he will continue to do so.
So with all the challenges I face, I have been handed a daunting position that can affect many iives. Mine, especially. But I have taken a deep breath and I am ready to Step up to the Plate.
The last two Presdent's were dynamic in their own right, so I have excellent role models. I hope I can keep this blog up so that I can share my experiences with you. Maybe get some comments that will help and have you follow the path of a woman with her career, her commitments, her family and her community service life. This should be interesting.
Oh Yes, I have 2 listings coming up. Let you know when I get them. Have 2 in contract.
