Competitors drill the fear in their heads that they can't afford to go to RE/MAX because there are so many fees. How many of them do you think actually take the time to look into this myth? Not many! We went with 3 other couples last night and ventured through the spooky corn maze. This year's theme is Survivor. Tish said it best! There are so many buyers on the fence waiting for the market to get to the "bottom", but how will they know where the bottom is? How Effective Are YOUR Open Houses? Every time I take a listing I always explain to the sellers that I don't do a ton of open houses. My strategy is to advertise one usually when the property is new to the market and then I will do additional ones if there are price adjustments. Why? Because open houses don't typically sell your house. I've sold 1 house in 7 years from an open house. Don't get me wrong, open houses are great for lead generating since the buyers come to you, but that's not what typically gets my homes sold. (38 comments)

What Will A Short Sale Cost The Seller? When you are ready to sell your home, there are many fees associated with it. In addition to paying off liens for mortgages on the property, you have to pay real estate commissions, taxes, attorney fees and other miscellaneous stuff. These are the costs usually paid for by the seller, but in a short sale the lender pays these things. WOW! Thank You RE/MAX Professional Associates! I just got home from a wonderful celebration held in our honor this evening by RE/MAX Professional Associates. Lorraine Hebert and Pam Crawford quickly put together a meet & greet with about 30-40 local agents, mortgage professionals and attorneys all welcoming us to the RE/MAX family. What a great time we had! We got to see so many familiar faces and meet some new ones. Medieval Manor - A Dinner Full of King Sized Entertainment Yesterday we had the privilege to join some friends and their family on a trip to Boston to dine at Medieval Manor. The fun started when the Hummer limo picked us up in Brimfield. We each brought drinks, snacks and appetizers to share to make the ride fly by with style. I'm a very independent person so I tend to work more from home. One of my reasons for doing this is I have small, young children at home, but another reason is because I'm very social. I'm always afraid I won't get anything done if I'm in a busy office surrounded by my peers. I'm the first to jump in and offer my help or suggestions. How about you? Is A Short Sale Really Better For You Than A Foreclosure??? You've asked and I'm here to give you the answer! I've heard the argument that a short sale isn't really better than a foreclosure and then there's the argument on whether or not a short sale will hurt your credit. Here are the facts: Short Sales WILL hurt your credit! It's going to effect your credit score just as badly as a foreclosure would. So if a short sale is going to still hurt my credit, why bother?
