That's right....11% of the year is already behind us and we've got about 89% of the year to go... Time to check progress... I've got a few agents in my office that are still formulating their 2010 plan???
This is time for a quick gut check...How are we doing after the first bit of the year is over... Not to worry if we find ourselves behind...Let's just reorganize and get ourselves set for the coming spring and summer months....

las vegas: Active Rain Hosts Cocktail Reception at Vegas BlogWorld Event! - 09/19/08 08:19 AM
Wow, what a way to kick off a Real Estate Blogworld event. John Novak of Las Vegas and Henderson helped to coordinate the cocktail reception on the outdoor patio of Gordon Biersch less than a mile off the fabulous Las Vegas Strip. We could see the hotels lit up in the background.
The reception was hosted by none other that "Active Rain" and site builder Rich Jacobson and it was awesome!

I cannot believe that we have almost worked our way to the last three months of the year once again. The kids are back in school, the weather is cooling off and before you know it, it will be the holiday season.
Have you noticed the older we get - the quicker time goes by?

It's really exciting news....Is it dumb luck or a sign of recovery? The inventory in the Greater Las Vegas market has dropped to less than an eight month supply based on July sales.  This is a smaller inventory, relative to number of sales, than we have experienced in two full years.  
The real issue and concern are the number of closings which are bank owned. July reflected 61% of the closings were just that, REO's.  This is making it difficult for the "normal" seller that just wants to sell and move to compete and the median prices for single family … (2 comments)

 My wife and I took the trip in June 2008.  We stayed at a friend's condo (3 bed - 3 bath), our friend who is also an agent at Keller Williams in Las Vegas. 
 Our friend, Jilan, is planning on retiring with her husband Tony in Jaco on the west coast of Costa Rica.  It was a very relaxing 6 days with a touch of rain for about two hours per day.  (June is the beginning of the rainy season).

Well gang I am pretty excited as my wife (also an agent) and I are off Monday morning (June 2, 2008) to Costa Rica. We will be staying Jaco and looking at Real Estate.  Many agents from the states are setting up shop in Costa Rica and/or working as part time agents there.  It does not require a license and there are some fantastic (most guard gated) communities.  One of my top agents owns a 1800 sq ft condo several blocks off the beach and intends to retire there in a few more years...      It's Hot, Hot, Hot........Real estate auctions every two to three weeks.....Airlines closing their cabin doors for the last time.....European gas prices right here in the desert....and last but certainly not least, a nine hundred million dollar short fall in our state budget, yikes!
