Wexler on Board for Chinese Drywall Resolution - 04/08/09 07:28 AM

Rep. Robert Wexler has joined Sen. Bill Nelson in the fight to rid Florida homes of controversial drywall from China, which some people claim causes health problems.

"The corrosive nature that appears to be in these homes from the contaminated drywall has created what may be significant health consequences for the families, enormous financial consequences and their entire peace of mind," Wexler said.

Chinese Drywall Problem is growing - 04/02/09 03:40 PM

More news about the Chinese Drywall problems in South Florida. It appears that insurance companies are fighting to pay claims by homeowners over the Chinese drywall crisis. When I asked Mario Turcotte and Daniel O'brien of Powertech Interiors about this they stated that tihis would make it very difficult to resolve the legal issues. Mario Turcotte and Daniel O'Brien Powertech Interiors Specialists recently responded to the Chinse drywall issues facing south florida.
Below is a brief description of what to look for
In short, drywall imported from China in 2004 through 2008 has been found to contain excessive amounts of sulfur and sulfur-related compounds. Humidity is believed to cause the sulfur in the drywall to outgas, which creates an odor which smells like rotten eggs or a match book. Some report a sweet, ammonia-like smell.
