There have been many listings on Denver's Craigslist lately that are rental scams.      These ads will advertise a great looking home, and usually resembles a GREAT deal.      These "owners" will break into vacant homes currently LISTED FOR SALE, meet you at the home, sign a lease and take your rental deposit as well as the first month of rent.
There are Denver landlords leasing properties that are in foreclosure, and know they will be pocketing any rental dollars they can bring in!    I had one family that signed a lease, and in three months got a letter from an attorney … (24 comments)

Denver Sales for April have been released!
The numbers are out and shows Denver had a good month of sales!    The inventory is up slightly, and pending contracts are up, which means bank owned or short sale properties are moving.    The single family homes are showing a 34% increase over March for regular sales.    Sold properties are up from March, and average days on market have decreased, but sales prices have decreased.

Home owners in and around the Denver Metro area have received their Real Property Notice of Valuation in the mail.     On the front of this form will state what the Assessor for the County has determined your current value is as of 6/30/2010.     The assessment period is from 1/1/09 through 6/30/10.    On the back, they will list which sales they used to come up with this value.

I enjoy reading Food & Wine magazine, and found a recipe I thought maybe some of you may enjoy as well.    It looks VERY easy, and may save you at the grocery store.     After all, vanilla extract can be pricey, and making your own just takes time, not much effort!
Time needed -- Active 5 min.   Total -- 6 weeks
Makes about 1 1/2 cups

Homeowners in Metro Denver have received their tax valuations in the mail within the last couple of weeks.     This will let you know what the County now says your home is worth.     These values are for the period of 1/1/09 and 6/30/10, NOT today's values.      These values are only for the assessments of taxes, not for resale values!

Denver's sales in April showed an increase from March 2011 to April 2011 in overall sales.     The average net to seller decreased in one area, and days on market have gone down.     The statistics were done on only detached single family homes from $300,000 and over for the Month of April.

The Annual Furry Scurry will be held at Wash Park in Denver May 7th, 2011.      All monies raised (100%) will go for the care of over 25,000 pets that are brought to shelters  to care for homeless pets.      It costs $20,330 per day to care for these homeless pets.    This will be a 2 mile walk around Wash Park, with refreshments before, during and after walk.
There will be 130 vendor booths to visit providing pet-friendly merchandise as well as services offers for pets.      For additional fun, there are fun contests for you and your pet to enter -
