real esate: CPI increasing, is it good or bad? - 02/20/08 04:28 PM
Today is Wednesday, the 20th of February 2008, and there are several economic events due, nevertheless I will focus on the ones that (according to my personal opinion) have greater influence on mortgage rates. First of all, last month's Consumer Price Index (CPI) was higher than expected with the overall rate of 0.4%, and the Core rate amassing up to 0.3% (excluding the increase in prices of food and energy) being the biggest monthly increase since June, 2006.
