Why Units Sell At Westwood Village, Danbury CT - 02/26/09 06:51 PM
There are many reasons units always seem to sell over at Westwood Village on the west side of Danbury. The community is composed of spacious well designed 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units. A proactive condo board & professional management company keeps the community well maintained. Great amenities including two pools, dog park and playground. Prime location minutes to I-84, I-684, train stations and New York state. Because of the community is set high upon a steep hill, some of the units do offer great views of the surrounding hillside and nearby lakes. Westwood Village is close to shopping along Mill

The difference between living in Connecticut & New York - 02/26/09 01:57 PM
There are some differences between living in Connecticut & New York. They include: There is no county government in Connecticut. Everything is handled by the town or city in which you live in. There is no separate school tax on top of the property taxes. They are included in the property taxes. Also in Connecticut, there is no program similar to the 'STAR' discount. The school districts in Connecticut are typically for just the town you live in. The property taxes in the Greater Danbury area are typically about 35% lower than in nearby towns in Westchester & Putnam Counties in

It's hard to find your home! - 02/25/09 02:48 PM
It is hard to find your home. It might seem like a simple task when you get started but after looking at more than 15-20 houses, you realize it can be quite a difficult thing and I can understand how frustrating it may seem. You can see units in communities that you like but the bedrooms have no closets, you can see homes that you like but in neighborhoods that you don't like or a great home in a neighborhood that you like which has something that you just can't fix (steep driveway, across the street from a school, backing up to

New Milford, Connecticut Condos - 02/19/09 03:05 PM
New Milford, Connecticut is between 15 and 20 minutes northeast of Danbury. With a charming downtown, which was used in the 2002 film 'Mr. Deeds', a growing retail environment along Danbury Road (Rt.7), large country estates, and the completion of the Brookfield bypass of Route 7 getting closer every day, New Milford Connecticut is going the next hot spot in Western Connecticut. Condo prices in New Milford, Connecticut average about 20% lower in Danbury. Available inventory is typically about 1/3 of the total amount of units for sale in Danbury. This is because New Milford is a much smaller town and

Old Ridgebury Road to Be Widened - 02/17/09 02:17 PM
According to the Danbury Newstimes today (2/17/09), Old Ridgebury Road is going widened from two to four lanes from Larson Drive up the four way stop light intersection with Briar Ridge Road & Benson Road. The city just put the work up to bid until the middle of March. Residents living and working in the Ridgebury neighborhood will benefit tremendouslyy, because the road is very busy in the morning heading up the hill to the various office buildings & campus for Boehringer Ingelheim and going back toward the highway at night. It is nice to see the city invest in some infrastructure since

Why to do your real estate business with a local agent - 02/17/09 12:48 PM
It is very important to work with a local agent with both purchasing or selling real estate. Not having the right agent can cost you lots of money, time and stress. Working with a LOCAL real estate agent will help you because they: Buying: Have seen in person other homes similar to the one you want to make yours to help give you a fair market value on your offer. Have relationships with local service providers to help you once you move in (plumbers, contractors, etc). Will point out things that will effect your resale ability other than material issues with any home(new development

Why It's Great Being A First Time Buyer in Today's Market - 02/16/09 06:24 PM
Here are my seven good reasons why it's great to be a first time buyer in the Greater Danbury Market? You don't have to worry about having to sell your current home in order to buy. You can still get a mortgage with a low interest rate if you have money to invest as your down payment, a steady job and a good credit score. Affordablity of move in condition properties and as well several opportunities to improve 'fixer-uppers'. You have time to think about your decision. With the tax benefits and low interest rates, your mortgage payments might been just slightly higher

Foreclosures and short sales aren't just in one or two neighborhoods in the Greater Danbury & Candlewood Lake Area, just like in many parts of the country. Great Deals For First Time Buyers ~Many Danbury Condos To Choose From! - 02/05/09 02:06 PM
Many of the first time buyers that I am working with in Danbury are looking for condos. They choose to look at condos because they don't have to worry about maintaining the exterior, typically get more square feet compared to similarly priced single family homes, and get to enjoy community amenities. With a larger supply of units available (currently 126 units under $275,000 per CMLS 3/6/09), there are plenty of units to choose from, so you can be picky on the complex, location in the complex and on the condition of units. In addition to the large supply, historically low interest
