"When it comes to fishing spots in far Northwestern Wisconsin, the Eau Claire chain ranks right at the top for multiple species," according to Dean Bortz, editor of Wisconsin Outdoor News.
DNR's Bayfield County fish biologist Scott Toshner describes Middle Eau Claire as having a low density, high quality fishery. Smallmouth bass show similar abundance as largemouth, with a common catch of a couple 20"+ per day.
Both Lower and Middle Eau Claire are known as good panfish lakes with good abundance and good sizes.
