I Drove Over 1000 Miles for 2 Meetups!
There is something very special about a meet-up with ActiveRain friends, whether it’s in your general area, or some place far away.
While AR has not been encouraging formal meetups on a quarterly basis and enticing us with points in the last year or so, having a meet-up offers a wealth of benefits and is something everyone should consider…and then just make it happen.
It enhances the relationship you already have with a fellow Rainer
There is lots of learning – about business, local markets, blogging, etc.

The ActiveRain Meet-up at CRS Sellabration in Dallas 2018
CRSs and ActiveRain members from around the country gathered on Monday evening, February 5 in Dallas.
The festivities started around 5 pm at the Silver Bar at the Gaylord Texan Resort Hotel in Grapevine, near Dallas, and what a fun time it was.
Meet-ups are always a great time but it’s even more fun when there are fellow Rainers from around the country attending, in addition to those living locally, in this case Dallas.

Here's another great opportunity to get together with AR friends from around the country, at CRS Sellabration in Dallas on Feb. 5 and 6. Are you going to be there?
Come meet up with your AR friends who are also CRSs! While you may not be attending CRS Sellabration (but you can, even if you are not a CRS) - the education from top-producing agents from around the country - and the abilty to network with agents from around the us (around 1000 agents are registered for this event), cannot be beat.

I was scrolling through some photos in DropBox and stumbled across this photo taken at the Chubby Chickpea back in 2014 on the South Shore of Boston in Canton.
I was in New England for a business trip for CRS and had the great fortune to meet-up with some AR friends for the first time! I thought the name of the place was pretty cool, the food (Middle Eastern) was great, and of course the company was the best!! We have been anticipating, and talking about this meet-up for a year, since a bunch of us met at the NAR meetings in Orlando in November 2016. And the moment finally arrived a couple of days ago in Chicago!!

I Almost Missed it!
I just got back from vacation very late Wednesday night (really Thursday morning) and things heated up quickly on a listing that is pending and nearing closing. And the problems almost prevented me from attending our first meetup in the San Diego area in 2017 yesterday at Chandlers at the Cape Rey Resort on the Coast Road/Route 101 in Carlsbad! Business comes first, of course, but I would have been majorly disappointed if I had missed out.

Fun in Washington DC - Mini-Meetup and a Ferris Wheel
The meet-up this evening turned out to be quite small. Only Martha Brown and I at McLoone's Pier Restaurant at National Harbor, as everyone else who had hoped to come had conflicts. My Uber drive from downtown took an hour due to the traffic but it was so well worth it, and took me through some areas of the city I've not seem before, some going through some radicial changes!

Washington DC Meetup 2012
I've had the pleasure, multiple times, of enjoying Washington DC meetups in May when attending the CRS/NAR meetings that are held each year. Way back in 2012 I got to enjoy a wonderful time with some terrific Washington DC and Maryland friends at a waterfront restaurant in Annapolis.
It was also memorable because of the battle cry "Don't Eat That Yet" so dedicated bloggers could snap photos of the beautiful food before being distrupted. Silly, perhaps, but we had a good laugh over it.

This is not a TRICK but it will be quite a TREAT!
Our Fall ActiveRain Meetup will be held on Halloween, October 31, 2016 in Oceanside. As in the past we will gather for lunch to avoid late afternoon San Diego traffic for those who are not local, and early enough so those who have trick or treat duties or Halloween plans have plenty of time to get home.

I was most fortunate to be able to attend the Orange County Activerain 2016 Summer Meetup in Alisa Viejo, hosted by Lauren Selinsky CRS ePro , yesterday evening. Lauren recently returned to AR with a vengeance after a hiatus of about 7 months; we actually met previously at the San Diego Association of Realtors Convention 3 years ago at the CRS booth!

I arrived in DC this afternoon in order to attend the CRS meetings for several days, chair the National Membership Development Committee, network with friends and meet some new folks, with perhaps a taste of NAR, and had a little time to spend at the DC ActiveRain meet-up tonight.

The Lighthouse Oyster Bar and Grill was the setting today for the San Diego area Spring Meetup over lunch.
It was a spectacular day, made even better with a gathering of terrific AR guys (for some reason the women who were invited couldn't make it! Did we do something wrong???) on the deck overlooking the Oceanside harbor and marina.

Just a quick reminder that the Spring ActiveRain Meetup takes place this Wednesday, April 27, 2016, from 11 am until 1 pm.
We are at a new venue this time, the Lighthouse Oyster Bar and Grill at the Oceanside marina. The food is great and the views of the marina and the ocean beyond are terrific, and the weather is supposed to be beautiful!
