carlsbad things to do: Fireworks in Carlsbad California July 3rd and 4th 2011 - 07/03/11 01:15 PM
Fireworks in Carlsbad California July 3rd and 4th 2011 Residents and visitors will have 2 nights to enjoy fireworks in Carlsbad California. The best places, in my opinion, are the following: JULY 3 - Sunday La Costa Resort and Spa. These fireworks can be seen close up on the golf course or from numerous vantage points (and homes) rimming the golf course and in the La Costa hills. Dine at Blue Fire Grill first, then hang around to enjoy the fireworks. JULY 4 - Monday Legoland, between Cannon and Palomar Airport Roads about ½ mile east of the 5 freeway.

It's truly an amazing sight to behold, close up or from a distance. The Carlsbad Flower Fields have been attracting visitors for years to the mass of color lasting for only a few weeks from the beginning of March through early May. Besides the hills of ranunculas, there are small gardens of roses and other flower displays to enjoy, with a host

Enjoy "Spa Under the Stars" at the La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad Going to a spa, for many folks, is a popular thing to do. And it's easy, here in the San Diego area, as there are seemingly a zillion to choose from. It seems that most major hotels have a spa (e.g., the Hotel Del Coronado, the Four Seasons Aviara, Marriott), there are resort spa destinations (L'Auberge in Del Mar, Estancia in La Jolla, La Costa Resort and Spa with the Chopra Center in Carlsbad), and a multitude of day spas, either stand-alone or attached to

My wife and I were treated to a very special evening of international guitar music last night by a good friend here in Carlsbad, CA. I continue to be impressed with the breadth and depth of the Carlsbad arts scene available for free or at low cost to Carlsbad residents and visitors - the free TGIF Jazz in the Parks concerts in the summers, the wonderful art exhibits at the Cannon Art Gallery at the Carlsbad Public Library, the outdoor arts and crafts fairs, Art Splash, and other offerings which included the International Guitar Night last night. carlsbad things to do: Carlsbad Village Street Faire is This Sunday November 1, 2009 in Carlsbad Village, California - 10/27/09 10:53 PM
It's that time again, for the town of Carlsbad to host one of the largest outdoor one-day street fairs in the country, on Grand Avenue from Carlsbad Blvd. (the Coast Road) to Jefferson in the heart of downtown just a few blocks from the beach. The Carlsbad Street Faire (there is also one held annually in May) generally attracts about 90,000+ visitors, practically the entire Carlsbad population, to 850+ vendors that are expected, many of whom return year after year. IT'S LIKE A MEGA SIDEWALK SALE or GARAGE SALE!! This year's Carlsbad Village Street Faire, in the 35th season, is once

carlsbad things to do: Julian Restaurants - The Julian Grille in Julian California - 10/17/09 10:37 AM
Dining out is a favorite activity of mine. And of the Julian restaurants The Julian Grille in Julian CA is the best, in my opinion. We take an annual trip (and sometimes more) to Julian CA to enjoy the town, the quaint shops, and of course the apples and apple pie for which Julian is famous. We always take time to have lunch at The Julian Grille in the heart of town on Main Street. Taking a trip to Julian is a fun thing to do for a day or overnight and a beautilful drive through the mountains from Carlsbad. The

carlsbad things to do: The Carlsbad Triathlon is this Sunday July 12 2009 - 07/07/09 05:11 PM
The Carlsbad Triathlon has a reputation of being one of the longest-running triathlons in the world. Of course the Hawaii Ironman is probably the #1, but, considering the company, being recognized as a pre-eminent athletic event is something to brag about. The Carlsbad Triathlon consists of a 1K swim (away from the kelp beds), a 25K bike ride (a two-lap course with rolling hills along the ocean - I have ridden this area myself and it is a terrific and scenic ride), and a 5K run, so it is substantially shorter than some of the better known triathlons. The Carlsbad
