A Visual Tour of Washington, DC in May 2012 - Fun, Food, Friends, Memories and Real Estate I spent 4 whirlwind days in Washington, DC last week for the Mid-Year Council of Residential Specialist (CRS) meetings, a series of legislative/educational committee meetings with national and regional leadership - I'm on the National Educational Forum committee.
It was 4 days of fun, food, friends, memories and real estate!
I suppose it's possible to have a bad meal in DC but I can't say I have.

I am heading off to Orlando early Wednesday morning (February 16) for the CRS Sell-A-Bration being held at The Peabody Hotel in Orlando from February 18th through the 20th (I have a CRS Leadership Meeting all day Thursday the 17th).
What a fabulous opportunity to get together with some AR folks
from the Orlando area and nearby,
and those ActiveRain CRSs who are attending!

I'm heading off tomorrow morning early out of LAX for the NAR and CRS Meetings in Washington, DC beginning Monday May 10.
Anyone else heading that way for part or all of the week?
If you are, let me know. I would love to meet up with as many AR folks as I can, given the time constraints.
I'll be attending the midyear NAR meetings for the first time, as part of my role as President-Elect for the Southern California Chapter of CRS (Certified Residential Specialists), through Wednesday. The CRS meetings start on Thursday and run through Sunday.

One of the largest REALTOR Trade Expos in Southern California, the San Diego Association of REALTORS (SDAR) Real Estate Expo, will be held on Friday April 23, 2010 from 9 am until 5pm.
The Expo will once again be held at the Town and Country Resort in Mission Valley (San Diego) at 500 Hotel Circle North, just off the 8 Freeway and east of the 5, and there will be a ton of exhibitors.
Admission is FREE and you can register on-line
There is a fee for the Keynote Luncheon

I paid a visit to the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego's Gaslamp District yesterday. It wasn't just for fun, although it was that. I was impressed enough, without staying there, that I wanted to share it. If you haven't stayed at one of their hotels, I recommend you consider it.
And if you are heading to San Diego in November for the N.A.R. Conference and Expo this might be THE place to stay.

Our Southern California Chapter of CRS is sponsoring another in a series of REO classes in Southern California in El Cajon in September on the 11th (for REO 101) and the 25th (for REO 102 - attendance at 101 is required.
Given the number of REOs in our neck of the woods, having the knowledge to properly handle REOs listings can be a great boost to your business. As a member of the Board of Directors for the Southern California Chapter of CRS, I recently monitored our CRS 201 class on Listing Strategies.
Even though I took this class when obtaining my CRS, I have had the opportunity to sit through it twice since, and always come away with new ideas to use in my listing presentations, pre-listing package, and marketing my listings.

I'm proud to be a member of our Southern California Chapter of the CRS (Council of Residential Specialists), in part because of the great learning and networking that occurs at our quarterly membership meeting, but also through our fund raising.
